Telluride is the perfect family resort, with a wide variety of terrain catering to all levels. Nearly 60% of its terrain is dedicated to beginner and intermediate skiers and you can access at least one intermediate trail off every lift. Additionally, nearly all hotel properties in Mountain Village offer ski-in/ski-out access

The Telluride Ski & Snowboard School offers multiple options for every member of the family, ranging from nursery services and kids group lessons to private lessons the whole family can enjoy. Book off-hill adventures through the Telluride Adventure Center to enjoy a family snowshoe, fat biking or snow biking trip. 

For meals, Telluride has on-mountain dining experiences that kids and adults will be talking about. Is there on-site childcare and if so, what is the starting cost?
Yes. There are a variety of options for on-site childcare. Toddlers (ages 1–4) can opt in for a half or full-day childcare. Daily activities include time enjoying the outdoors as long as weather permits, including gondola rides, short walks to watch skiers and ice skaters, and a chance to get fresh air and sunshine around the Mountain Village Core. Healthy snacks are served in the morning and afternoon to toddlers, and lunch is served around 12 PM daily. See website for COVID restrictions. 
What is the starting cost of ski/ride school? Ages?
Ski/Ride school includes a lesson, lift ticket and lunch for ages 3 to 14. Advance reservations (at least 48 hours in advance) is strongly recommended. See website for 2020/21 pricing.

What area (off-mountain) activities would appeal to families for their winter vacation? 
There are a variety of off-mountain activities, including adventures such as snowshoeing, fat biking and more. You can book any available off-mountain activity through the Telluride Adventure Center, which also provides day camps for kids ages 5-12. Their kids programs are designed to connect kids with their environment and develop a deeper appreciation for the world around them.
