So true! Love this post! Especially the coupon for dinner thing. If they didn't have expiration dates my husband and I would have never had a date night!

Kendra - I'm with you. Sometimes that happy medium is really hard to find. I'm just tired of wasting energy feeling bad about myself! I am who I am...and I like that person. 🙂

Marty- I really hopped on board with this when the studio told me they have wine nights. Balance is important. 🙂

Amber- You should come with me. That about sums up my capabilities, too. 🙂

Here's the thing that's so hard about it: It's so individual! It's not like when you have a cold and then your kid catches it and you think, "Oh, I'll just give her some antihistamines and she'll be fine!" What works for me, may not work for her. As with myself, I'm trying to figure out her "triggers" and I think, at this point, I've figured out that she has some stomach issues. We're trying more yogurt, more fiber to try and work them out. My therapist also mentioned that I might want to up her iron in her diet...

Melissa... ALL kids are rude at five! It's when they get to around 10 and into the teenage years...that's when I wonder what in the heck happened! Your kid will be fine. You recognize that he/she might be impolite at times. Most parents don't or don't care! 🙂 Best to you. It takes a village...

Amber...Last year on Mother's Day, I had a full house of kids (will NOT make that mistake again this year). My mom and I were having an appetizer on my back porch and this kid ran up and said, "That looks good" and started to reach for one. My mom said, "Have you eaten lunch?" "No." She moved the plate and said, "Go home and eat." If one of my kids did that, I would be mortified.

Oh, yes, Linda! We were very careful and made sure the fox had packed its little bag and vacated the premises. It wasn't too happy about it, though! 🙂 I know I need to teach them to go outside, but with kids my age, I don't want them to just take it upon themselves to do that at will - I need to teach them the appropriate times to pee al fresco. HA!

Thank you, Amber. You are absolutely right! We never know what other parents are going through, so it's best to just go out there with and understanding attitude. I know that my own situation has opened my eyes to how others might be going through their own difficult situations.
