Inside the Orchestra’s Tiny Tots Performances @ Stanley Marketplace

Tiny Tots gets children truly inside the orchestra by seating the audience on the floor and surrounding them with a 30+ piece orchestra. Designed for children six and under, this 45-minute program gives young ones the chance to interact with the music and learn about the instruments in the process. Tiny Tots audiences receive an up-close-and-personal performance in a casual, fun environment. The experience is one-of-a-kind!
Highlights of the Winter Tiny Tots season: Have fun with the orchestra as we explore the concepts of teamwork and how the orchestra works together to create beautiful music. We’ll be joined by special guests from Kim Robards Dance and Central City Opera.
Performances are at 9:30 and 10:45.

Jeremy finds fun and adventure on the high seas, but he soon learns that home and family are treasures you can’t find on any map!

Catapult – The World’s Premier Shadow Dance Company @ PACE Center

The art of weaving shadows into stories has been around for a thousand years, but never before has been elevated to such an art form. Dance, music, and the duality of light and darkness come together to create stories of love and peace and countless others. Catapult, the avant-garde shadow dancing group brought to the world’s attention on America’s Got Talent, brings their talent to PACE this spring in an experience unlike any other.

Open Adventure Day @ Colordo Adventure Point

Come see what Colorado Adventure Point is all about! And what better way to do that than by coming to Open Adventure Day!
Start your day on the Rock Climbing wall as your plan your trek up the wall to ring the bell at the top. Then spend some time at the Archery Range where you’ll keep the target in your sights. How about some Leatherworking or Blacksmithing? This is your opportunity to try something new!
Cost for Open Adventure is only $10 per person. There is no age limit! Kids – bring your parents!
Open Adventure Days do have a minimum number of 5 participants to run so please, reserve your spot well in advance! Better yet, grab the whole family and come on over!

Early Release Day Adventure @ Colorado Adventure Point

Throughout the year our various schools have several early release days. Colorado Adventure Point is available to make these days off more exciting by offering half day classes in various fun skills. Some of these classes include archery, rock climbing, art, cooking and robotics. Each day will cover two separate classes, please refer to our website for more details!

Denver’s Children’s Festival of Stories @ McNichols Building

This premiere event is a collaborative creation between Second Star to the Right children’s bookstore and Denver Arts & Venues cultural program. This day-long FREE public event features 30 national local children’s books authors and illustrators of board books, picture books, chapter books and middle grade novels. Featured presenters will offer storytimes, readings, illustration demonstrations, book signings and book-themed crafts. Unique creation stations and children’s performers will engage the whole family in reading fun! Additional events for educators, aspiring children’s book creators and librarians are also part of this event.

The inaugural Denver’s Children’s Festival of Stories will be held in Denver’s original public library now known as the McNichols Civic Center building in Civic Center Park on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 9:00am-4:00pm. Admission is FREE.​

Authors & illustrators will share stories, meet young readers and sign books!

Book-themed crafts accompany storytimes

A World of Workshops that will spark the imagination of creators of all ages

Tween Connect offers middle school readers opportunities to hang with their favorite authors

Performers will bring stories to life on stage through theatrics and music

Special guest star readings from Denver’s well-known community members

​Children’s Festival of Stories will also include an Evening of Story for sponsored educators and librarians to meet featured presenters. A day of panels and workshops for educators, writers & illustrators of children’s books to learn from our invited presenters will also be offered through this event.

Like Mentoring Teens? Foster a Teen! @ Sheridan Library

Wiley and the Hairy Man @ PACE Center

Wiley is a young man of small ambition and even smaller confidence. Happy to lay around all day with his loyal Dog, Wiley argues when his mother tells him to venture deeper into the swamp to collect firewood. Hidden in the depths of the swamp is the notorious Hairy Man, a fearful giant who feasts on humans! When Wiley is suddenly thrown into a confrontation with the dreaded Hairy Man himself, will he be able to “conjure” up his inner strength and confidence?
