Nosy Neighbors @ Chautauqua Community House
Jun 11 @ 2:00 pm

Behold Nosy Neighbors, from the creators of last year’s fringe hit Wanda & the Wave! Nosy Neighbors is a new work of clown theatre for all ages. It’s for anyone who hasn’t got the fine art of friendship totally figured out.

Meet Pia and Pashminka, neighbors wherever they roam. They assemble their home wherever they land, a cartoon pop-up world in which dancing houses prevail and a quick jaunt to get the mail can turn into an epic adventure. The mailbox holds a surprise that creates havoc and ultimately highlights the power of friendship. Sublime clowning for all ages–It’s not just for kids, but it’s not for adults who have forgotten the kid within.

“I would say that audiences are going to find both a humor and a poetry that is really genuine and vulnerable … Being a clown is more of a stripping away than a putting on of something.”– Claire Patton, director

The Treasures of Toothless Jack: A hiking play presented by Arts in the Open @ Chautauqua Picnic Shelter
Sep 17 @ 12:00 pm – Oct 30 @ 3:00 pm

Remember those books where you got to choose your own adventure? In “The Treasures of Toothless Jack” by Joaquin Aviña, audience members get a chance to choose the path of the play’s two friends as they are pulled into a mystery, challenge bad guys and possibly end the debate of whether a tomato is a fruit or a vegetable.

Audience and actors take a moderate hike amidst the scenic backdrop of Boulder Open Space while scenes from “The Treasures of Toothless Jack” are performed along the way.

Audience members are encouraged to bring camping chairs and/or blankets and mats to sit on while watching the scenes. Water, sunscreen and hats are suggested and comfortable walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing are strongly encouraged. In case of inclement weather, the performance will be held under the Picnic Shelter.

Buy early! Each hike is capped at low numbers and tends to sell out in advance.
