Denver Deal: Ski Expo, Panera Opening, and FREE Days

I recently went to Parallel 17 with a friend for brunch/lunch. Typical to Chef Mary Nguyen’s other restaurants, Parallel 17 brings such a fun unique feel that foodies and non-foodies alike appreciate the great unique twists. My friend and I were awed at the stuffed french toast – an amazing french bread stuffed with blueberries, walnuts, ricotta and cream anglasae. When it says stuffed it  really means stuffed (inside – not like a sandwich). The outside of the bread had been deep fried so it had a delicious (and I’m pretty sure not healthy) delicious crunch. We also tried the calamari salad – which was equally delicious. The meal was topped off with lemongrass cotton candy, lots of laughter, meeting Chef Mary and a promise that I will be back with my foodie son.

Cabela’s Grand Openings Aug. 15-18: Win a Starter Fishing Rod Every Day This Week

If you have been living under a rock for the last couple months, then it’s possible you have missed all the hype surrounding the exciting dual opening of Cabela’s—Thornton and Lone Tree. Well, we here at Mile High Mamas wanted to get in on the fun and enthusiasm bubbling over for the grand opening of both locations on August 15th! And, we didn’t want you mamas to miss out either! We partnered with Cabela’s to give-a-way a spectacular prize each day this week.

All week, Mile High Mamas will be picking one lucky mom each day to win a Zebco 202/404 Spincast Combo ($29.99) for her son or daughter. This well-known starter rod might be the most popular choice for first casts for kids nationwide. Retailing at ($29.95), the fishing kit includes two combos—a medium-light rod and one 404 with a medium-action rod. Reels feature long-lasting stainless-steel pick-up pins, durable ABS housings, sturdy 2.7:1 gear ratios and built-in hook keepers. Both come pre-spooled with 75 yards of monofilament line (202,10-lb. test; 404, 15-lb. test) The rods are crafted from 5’6″ two-piece graphite blanks with comfortable EVA grips and ceramic insert guides. And, the best part, these fishing kits aren’t even available yet in Cabela’s Colorado stores, nothing like having something you can’t find out there right now!
