Denver Deal: Free Days, Smiling Moose, Stock Show and More

I have often thought that New Year’s and the resolutions that go along with it are typically something NEW. Something different from what I’ve done in years past. Like somehow, going “back” is well…going backwards. But this year one of my resolutions was to do more hiking. This is something I have often enjoyed – after a great hike on Saturday. I realized that going back to what you love is in no way going backward. Rather, it is one step ahead in a direction I’d like to go.

Denver Deal: Stock Show, Free Days, Noodles and More

I am the Deals Editor. I don’t often play the Powerball (and I rarely have cash because I can’t track where it goes). But I decided this week to play. I mean really, if it is $1.3 Billion – with a “B” – I may win right? Do you dream about what you will do with your money? That was exactly what I was thinking on my run yesterday. But I realized that Deals are so ingrained in me I would still probably look for a deal – a way to make my money go further. Would you?

Denver Deal: Outlets at Castle Rock, Clothes Mentor, Peet’s and More

My son turned 16 this past weekend. (He’s not driving just yet – he will take the test in about a month). I always thought 16 was a monumental birthday and had plans for making his special. He says it is just any old birthday and doesn’t understand the hub-bub. I think this really was his excuse to just to something with friends and not be with mom. So I ask you, what are monumental birthdays in your mind? Do you start making plans when your kids are babies to do something special at 13, buy them a car at 16, take them to Vegas when they turn 21 or is that just me? (So far I’m 1 for two – he didn’t get a car!)

Denver Deal: Mountain Khakis, Winter Fest, ARC and more!

There seems to be hub-bub over the 40s for me right now. Not only did my daughter and I have the White Christmas Ball this last weekend – but I also am going to an aunt’s birthday party which is themed after the 40s (this weekend). It is so much fun to roll my hair in ways I didn’t think it would go, the skirts are forgiving of my not-so perfect shape and they certainly had more sensible shoes than what I regularly wear now. Have to give it to those Haynes Sisters and Rat Pack – they really did know how to entertain. But really it is all about putting us in the mood for Christmas and it did for certain!

The process for making our choice, registering, checking out and what I liked best was the reminder emails.

Denver Deal: Noodles, Chili’s, Kneaders and More

How early do your kids start thinking of what they will be for Halloween? At what age do they stop trick or treating? I sort of miss the cute trick or treating days (my kids at 14 and 15 years old have no intention to trick or treat this year – but are already plotting their costumes). I typically purchase candy that I like to eat in case I don’t hand it all out but maybe I shouldn’t do that and my waist wouldn’t feel the effects. I recently read a post on Facebook that some neighbors are trying to be conscientious about the neighbor kids peanut allergies and gluten-free diets with the Teal Pumpkin Project. Is this something you care about?

Noodles. Noodles is celebrating their 20th anniversary with 20 days of giveaways. The first of which is on Oct 20 you get a free mac and cheese with the purchase of another entree. Noodle lovers enjoy!

Chili’s. Chili’s is celebrating the Presidente margarita’s 21st birthday with $5 margaritas and 21-cent chips and salsa. OMG. Their chips are the BEST! (You can even buy the chips without the margarita).

Fab’rik women’s boutique, in Aspen Grove, invites you for a private shopping night hosted by the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley  on October 22 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Enjoy drinks & mini cupcakes while you shop. Plus 20% of net sales of full priced items from the event will be donated to benefit the fuzzy animals at the shelter.

The Joint. Celebrate National Chiropractic Health Month at The Joint with a free exam and adjustment.  Follow this link to schedule yours free! Seriously…no strings.

Gigi’s Cupcakes. Enjoy one of the newest flavors at Gigi’s Cupcakes for just $2 on Tuesday, October 20. The new flavors are Apple Pie and Mama’s Butterscotch Bacon. YUM.

Flu Shots. While it is getting close to flu season – you don’t have to WELCOME it.  North Suburban Medical Center has FREE flu shots while supplies last.  Costco has theirs for just $14.99. Rocky Mountain Urgent Care will do flu shots for $20.

Avalanche Family Night. Family night (presented by White Fence Farm) is Saturday, October 24 vs. Columbus Blue Jackets at 7 p.m. just $31 each gets you 1 upper level ticket, 1 Food & Pepsi Voucher. I love the way the Avalanche changed this promotion this year to a per person price (not all families are “4-packs”).

Nuggets Family Night. October 30 is Family night at the Nuggets. Get 1 Ticket and 1 Meal and Pepsi Voucher for just $22!

Kneaders Bakery and Cafe. My daughter and I went to the newest Kneaders on Friday after my son’s football game. I understand we should go back for the french toast (we didn’t get there in time for the free meal).
