As we know, parenting does not come with a guide book. Despite all of our best efforts, children are inevitably going to test limits and pose challenges. Over the course of five 2-hour sessions, Restoring Peace provides parents and caregivers with tools and techniques to navigate the challenges that arise on a daily basis. Along with communication and listening tools, this course includes an exploration of our personal responses to conflict and anger better equipping us to handle conflict when it inevitably arises with our children.
We approach our parenting course through a Restorative Practices lens. Restorative Practices focuses on strengthening relationships, taking responsibility, and repairing any harm that has been caused. Through this framework, parents gain skills to walk the talk with their own children and impart the same principles of empathy, responsibility, and respect.
