Contest: Friends Don’t Let Friends Do Boring at Infuzed Soda Bar & Sweets

Scrumptious cookies and flavorfully fun fizzy drinks have teamed up to be your ultimate sweet treat. Infuzed Soda Bar & Sweets is a brand-new, locally owned hot spot to fuel your dreams of dessert.

Infuzed owner and hands-on manager, Aaron Kusch, has incorporated his own family’s cookie recipes, showcasing them in inventive ways. One of the standout offerings are the Cookie Fries. Perfectly baked sugar cookie bars are served with choice of one of six delightful cookie dips. No ketchup or ranch needed with these fries! Dip them in fluffy Lemon Berry Zest, Salted Caramel, Cookies and Cream, Nutella, and more. He loves to be inventive with both the dips and the cookies.

Of course, you will find all-time classics, like chocolate chip, sugar with frosting (and all-important sprinkles!), snickerdoodles, and seasonal offerings that reflect fun holidays and beloved flavors. Check often to see what is new or coming soon! With each cookie purchase, you get to try one of the cookie dips as well! The flavor combinations are up to you!

The focus of Infuzed Soda Bar & Sweets is playing with flavor, and that extends to their extensive offering of soft drinks and smoothies. Their motto is “Friends Don’t Let Friends Do Boring” and they really mean it! You can invent your own combination of syrups and soda (including sparkling water) or you can enjoy one of their concoctions. My son loved a mix called The Drink That Shall Not Be Named, which is a funny ode to a certain beverage in a certain book about a certain young wizard. They love to have fun with everything. Other drinks you must try are Killin’ Me Smalls, Skittles Sandwich, A-Aron, and Panda at the Disco.

When you visit, you can enjoy your treats in the shop, have them delivered via the usual food delivery apps, or order them in advance for a party or event. They also partner with schools for fundraising nights.

Check out locally-owned Infuzed Soda Bar & Sweets to see their menu, location, hours, and online ordering.  13762 Colorado Blvd, Suite 124, Thornton, CO.

Infuzed Soda Bar & Sweets hosted my family to try their cookies and drinks. All opinions are our own.

Win a FREE birthday party at Urban Air Adventure Park Stapleton

What is this new monstrous facility in Stapleton? Urban Air Adventure Park is a kid and adult indoor fantasy world of so much, there is no way one party would ever satisfy all the curiosity that awaits families at this indoor arena of activity. We tested the park out one Friday evening in October and even ran into another mother we knew who was there for a child’s birthday, the proof is in the product for sure!

The Park is a cosmic zone of 37,000 square feet, including 25 attractions,  8 birthday party / special event rooms and a full-service snack and beverage counter. We will start with the sky and work down. The Adventure Hub is a combination of the Sky Rider coaster that soars way overhead from the ceiling, ropes course and tubes indoor playground, which has the most magical bright lights for insta-worthy moments.

For the technology-driven family member, he or she can fight robots and dragons and experience virtual reality snowball fights as one battle to collect coins, all with headsets that are constantly cleaned, don’t worry mom!

There’s so much more. Dreaming of free climbing, easily accomplished in the harnessed safety of Park’s climbing walls where children and adults can build muscles and hone technical skills while enjoying some cliffside fun. Bumper cars never get old as one can whirl around in the battle of the bumpers, the idea for kids who love cars but aren’t quite old enough to drive.

Wait, we’re not done, don’t forget the warrior course, battle beam, wipeout, the APEX trampolines, trapeze, dodge ball, slam dunk zone, tumble track, drop zone and more! Fearing you might get hungry, no problem, and the plentiful snack bar with all the classics such as nachos, pizza, hot dogs (love the mini size!), vegetables, chips, soda, candy, craft beer and wine for adults.

I told my girlfriend about my this unimaginable place that could entertain my 3, 8 and 10-year-olds, and she replies, “Oh year, our school started late this year I took my son and his friend there for SIX hours and I pulled up next the snack bar and got so much work done. Aren’t the staff amazing with the kids, the boys can’t wait to go back!”

Ditto, even if it’s not for a birthday party, this new elevated-indoor activity gym and experience should certainly be on the bucket list for the family this season, especially come cold or inclement weather. Jumping in the wild ball pit will bring back memories for adults and create new ones for the next generation; it was still, by far, our favorite.

Insider tip: The best value is to purchase an endless play membership which starts at just $7.99/month and is packed with $2,400 in savings.

Win a Classic Party Package

Classic Party Packages are a great value for a one-of-a-kind kid’s birthday party experience. Let your kiddo and their friends explore the best indoor attractions in town for 2 hours while the Urban Air staff takes care of the rest. Contest: Win a Corala Weighted Blanket to help with those sleepless nights (a $199 value!)

Do you struggle to sleep at night? You’re not alone. A whopping 45 percent of the population currently suffers from “poor or insufficient sleep.” Maybe it’s insomnia or anxiety or pain (sorry, we can’t help if it’s a crying baby).

Enter: The Corala Weighted Blanket.  My husband has long suffered from rheumatism flare-ups and nighttime is often a misery for him. I’ve watched with interest as weighted blankets have become increasingly more popular but have hesitated to buy them because there is such a broad range of products on the market and frankly, it’s tough to know what to buy.

Not all weighted blankets are created equally (and many are filled with dangerous chemicals) so when a trusted friend who suffers from insomnia due to her chronic pain recommended Corala, I knew my husband had to test it out.

And do you know what? It works.

This special weighted blanket (which was created by an entrepreneurial mom and dad team) uses lead-free pure glass beads that somehow make you feel more secure, relaxed and calm. It certainly hasn’t solved 100% of his sleep problems but it has significantly helped the quality of his sleep, something that even Ambian hasn’t been able to touch. And my teen daughter who is sometimes prone to anxiety loves to snuggle up with it when she does her homework or watches TV.

Corala blankets are made using 100% soft, breathable cotton. The complete set includes their premium 60×80″ Queen size 20 lbs weighted blanket in lovely Living Coral color and also comes with a summer duvet and a winter duvet, to ensure you always have the perfect level of insulation. Best of all, the entire set is shipped in their attractive Corala Gift Box suitable for gifting or storing your blanket.

Here are few questions from their FAQ page:

How does it work?

The weight of the blanket draped over the body actually increases serotonin production in the brain, which is the hormone responsible for relaxation, stress relief, and anxiety reduction. Weighted blankets aim to use gravity to swaddle you in deep comfort while you sleep; that’s why they are called gravity blanket sometimes.

What are the benefits of the Corala Weighted Blanket?

The Corala weighted blanket features all of the great benefits you have likely heard about. With weighted blankets becoming a popular tool to help children with anxiety disorders and Autism, a lot of research has gone into the design. The weight of the blanket works through Deep-Touch Pressure (DTP) stimulation. It increases the release of serotonin within the brain and helps to relieve the likes of PTSD, insomnia, and restless leg syndrome.

A weighted blanket will also prove beneficial even for healthier adults not suffering from any such condition as the DTP still offers a calming affect, helping you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer as you enjoy a restful night.

Is the Corala Blanket bulky?

Absolutely not! Since the Corala blanket is made using high-quality glass beads rather than soft plastic pellets, we do not have to use as many beads to achieve the weighted effect. This makes for a sleek and slim blanket. Plus, the tiny glass beads make for a smoother feel, compared to plastic pellets, which often have a pebble-like texture. The name ‘Corala’ is from its color. Living Coral has been chosen as color of the year 2019 by Pantone color professionals.

(Hidden zipper)

How Do I Wash It?

It comes with two duvet covers–one for summer and winter–and when it gets dirty, just throw the covers in the wash.

If you’re a poor sleeper…or just enjoy the calming effects of snuggling up to a blanket by the fire while you read…the Corala is a fantastic gift that comes with a 1-year warranty and a 30-night trial with free return and delivery.

Contest: Harvest Farm Fall Festival Family Fun and Helping Those In Need

Leaves are falling, autumns calling and everything pumpkin spice is here. In the most magical and colorful way the world is turning into autumn all around us. With pumpkin patches, fall festivals and corn mazes galore, it’s hard to pick the exact activity that will spark that perfect fall feeling as the seasons change.

But, what if you could have the best of both worlds? What if you could get all the enchantment of the fall while helping to change lives?

At Harvest Farm Fall Festival that is exactly what attendees do. Proceeds from the Festival directly support the New Life Program (NLP) at Harvest Farm. An outreach of Denver Rescue Mission, Harvest Farm is a 100-acre working farm located in Wellington, CO. The Farm accommodates up to 72 men recovering from chronic homelessness and addiction and helps return them to society as productive, self-sufficient citizens.

For the past 17 years, families from near and wide come to our Festival to have a true fall farm experience and support the men in our NLP. With the help of Fall Festival attendees and donors over the years we’ve been able to help 450 men in our program graduate.

When you arrive at the Farm you’ll be greeted by all things fall. Scattered throughout the acres of farm land is a 10-acre corn maze, pig races, pumpkin picking station, corn cannons, petting zoo, wagon rides and much, much more. To top it off, the Farm makes some of the best kettle corn in all of Northern Colorado (some would even say it puts the pumpkin spice latte to shame with it’s out of this world flavors.)

Throughout the month of October there are also featured attractions that add even more sparkle and pizazz to the Festival. For the first time ever we are having a puppy yoga class in our barn opening weekend. Who doesn’t want to do some yoga with 8 to 12 month old puppies? Alongside puppy yoga, we also have Colorado Weekend. Everyone who wears Colorado gear will get $2 off one admission.

Any Broncos fans out there? Our second weekend open we will have Miles, the Denver Broncos mascot, as our featured guest at the Farm! Whether you’re a Broncos fan, Colorado fan, or just a fan of fall time, there’s something for everyone and every age at the Harvest Farm Fall Festival.

What are you waiting for? Dive into fall with us at Harvest Farm and help support a life-changing program!

For exact times, locations, attractions and more please visit… https://www.harvestfarm.org

Contest: Putt-Putt-Hooray! Urban Putt Denver is Now Open

Imagine being 100 feet tall, in possession of a golf club and ball, and putting your way through Denver’s most iconic landmarks. That’s what it feels like to play 18 holes of mini golf at Urban Putt, downtown Denver’s newest family fun destination.

Urban Putt Denver is housed in the former Old Spaghetti Factory building. Owner and “Chief Greenskeeper” Steve Fox isn’t a newbie when it comes to mini golf love. He and his wife built mini golf courses for their friends in their San Francisco home, eventually channeling the love of the game and the camaraderie it inspires into the first Urban Putt location in San Francisco.

The historic, cavernous 1889 built space provides ample room and a storied vibe to a lovingly creative mini golf adventure. You and your kids will be challenged in a variety of hole types, from traditional windmill obstacles to virtual arcade style high tech. You’ll work your way around a course which includes the Colorado state capitol building, Coors Field, a mashup of Lakeside and Elitch’s amusment parks, a mountain mine, DIA (including its guardian, Blucifer), Red Rocks, and the Urban Putt building itself. Sprinkled between the Colorado-centric holes are odes to aliens and even deep sea friends.

Our favorite holes were a tie between the beautifully detailed mountain mine and the ode to Red Rocks, where your ball travels through a Rube Goldberg-esque track that causes your ball to play real musical instruments. It’s truly clever.

We also adored the inventive repurposed gumball machines, now colorful golf ball dispensers. Around every bend in the course, and even the hallway to the bathrooms, brainy and whimsical touches pop up and keep you smiling. At the end of each nine-hole course is a fortune telling machine. If you get a hole in one, an amusing fortune will pop out as a little keepsake.

Urban Putt is divided into two nine-hole courses. Play one course for $11 or both for $19. A full kitchen and bar stands by ready to fuel your dreams of golf greatness. You can sit in the preserved trolley that boasts a great view of the colorful, trippy course. And if you are in need of a cheeky, stand-out party space, you can book Urban Putt for a memorable event.

With fall and winter fast approaching, it is great to have an option for indoorsy activities. One of the best things about mini golf is how it brings a group together. Round up your group and head to Urban Putt Denver. It opens on Friday, September 13, 2019. Check urbanputt.com for more information on hours and pricing.

Contest: Junior League of Denver’s newest cookbook (and don’t miss these 4 recipes!)

The Junior League of Denver (JLD)’s cookbooks have been part of my family since the beginning. Shortly after our wedding, my mother-in-law gifted me with two JLD cookbooks which have become the backbone of what I feed my family for 15 years strong!

Centennial Celebrations, the JLD’s sixth cookbook, has officially been released. The newest cookbook joins the League’s collection of five other award-winning cookbooks that many regard as a Denver institution. Packed with the colorful flavors of the Centennial State and honoring the League’s 100th anniversary, Centennial Celebrations includes more than 200 thoroughly tested recipes for every season and occasion. The creative menus, recipes and entertaining tips will inspire you to cook, connect and celebrate… Colorado style!

Centennial Celebrations Chair Mary Beth McErlane explains, “Centennial Celebrations is a treasure trove of recipes that truly reflects how people cook today. Hosting a game day party? The cookbook contains delicious recipes that are easy to throw together with just a few ingredients. Looking for something a little fancier for an anniversary or a special holiday meal? Centennial Celebrations has that too!” said McErlane. “The book also includes photos at iconic locations throughout Denver, including a few nonprofits and historical sites that the League has supported throughout the last 100 years. The book is functional, and also an excellent gift for anyone that has fallen in love with all things Colorado. We are proud and honored to add it to our collection.”

JLD’s cookbooks have been a Denver staple since Colorado Cache was released in 1978. The League has sold more than 2.1 million books to date, raising nearly $7 million to support the community. JLD is known for creating incredible cookbooks that feature unique triple-tested recipes, as well as mouth-watering recipe photos and Colorado landscape photography.

We are giving away one of these amazing cookbooks; be sure to enter to win below! But first, enjoy these delicious recipes.

Contest: Win tickets to Andrea Bocelli at the Pepsi Center!

As one of the most recognizable voices in the industry, Andrea Bocelli has been thrilling audiences for over 20 years, counting nearly 90 million records sold worldwide. Following a record-breaking year with the release of his number one album, “Si,” Andrea Bocelli announced four special U.S. concert dates.

The June 2019 tour will bring Bocelli back to the Sacramento and Denver areas for the first time in over five years, and marks the first time Andrea has played back-to-back performances on the west coast. His annual summer run will close at Pepsi Center in Denver on June 21st.

Each performance will feature a unique repertoire from Bocelli’s landmark release “Si,” his first ever chart-topping album on the Billboard 200 chart.  The world-renowned tenor will also treat audiences to his beloved traditional selection of arias, love songs and crossover hits. The Colorado Symphony will be joining Andrea at his Denver date and longtime conductor, Eugene Kohn, will accompany Andrea for each stop on the tour.

Tickets to see Andrea Bocelli at Pepsi Center range from $82-$368 and can be purchased at http://bit.ly/19Bocelli.
