Cozy up with this winter reading challenge for grownups!
The Denver Public Library recently kicked off its annual Winter of Reading program for adults aged 18 and up. The program runs until Feb. 28. This engaging program encourages participants to connect with the library by taking on various reading-related challenges to win limited-edition prizes. 
 
To participate, visit any DPL location in Jan. or Feb. to grab a Winter of Reading brochure or print one at home! Brochures are available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Arabic.

The Dawn of Chicano Poetry
Sunday, Jan. 28, 1 p.m., Rodolfo “Corky” Gonzales
Spanish poems published after 1848 helped U.S. native Spanish speakers express
opinions and connect with their Mexican homeland while promoting solidarity on both
sides of the border. This presentation analyzes and critiques several poems mined
from digitized newspapers using optical character recognition (OCR) technology.
