Oktoberfest is the celebration of German Bavarian culture….and beer. No wonder there are so many Oktoberfest celebrations in Colorado.
Oktoberfest Events in Denver
Denver Oktoberfest. The Denver Oktoberfest runs for two weekends – September 20-22 and September 27-29 at Larimer Street and 21st Street in the Five Points/Ball Park neighborhood. The listed times are: Fridays 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturdays 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event includes a stein hoisting competition, keg bowling, live music, a costume contest, a talent show, vendors and food, private cabanas, a long dog derby and a beer hall with VIP exclusive experiences. Breckenridge Oktoberfest Downtown Breckenridge will celebrate Oktoberfest Sept. 13-15; Friday 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Breckenridge Oktoberfest is one of my favorites with the whole main street blocked off with fun and Oktoberfest frivolity. Also, a new feature this year including a 21-and-older wristband that doubles as a convenient form of payment for all your easy beer-buying needs. There is also a 5k trail run that will lead runners on trails through Breckenridge ending just in time for Saturday’s first pour at 11 a.m.
Evergreen Area Oktoberfest Oktoberfest in Evergreen will take place on September 21 in Buchanan Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event includes a variety of activities for all ages, along with live music, dancing, food and beer. Plus, proceeds from the Evergreen Oktoberfest will benefit Camp Comfort and Mount Evans Home Health Care and Hospice.
Downtown Castle Rock Oktoberfest Castle Rock declares Oktoberfest Prost at Wilcox Square on September 21 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. While there enjoy live music, a variety of food trucks, vendor booths, kid’s activities, stein hoisting competitions, beer and cocktails at the Downtown Castle Rock Oktoberfest. The event is free.
Estes Park Autumn Gold Festival Heading up to the mountains for Autumn Gold Festival is both an array of seeing the leaves and enjoying beers, brats and bands, face painting, a car show and more. The family-friendly event is free at the Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary Club on September 21-22. Saturday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Vail Oktoberfest. September 13 -15 is the second of two Oktoberfest weekends at Lions Head in Vail. The event includes live bands, stein-lifting, food and beer, and another great excuse to head to the mountains this fall.
Highlands Oktoberfest. Highlands Oktoberfest & Marketplace on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Enjoy Bavarian-themed festivities and fare, shopping, contests, kids activities, and live music along 32nd Ave. from Irving to Perry.
