It’s a family Rendezvous at The Fort!

A day at the Rendezvous at The Fort is a day in the early West, offering engaging and immersive fun for the whole family. Historic interpreters will show guests day-to-day skills from the 1840s, such as sign language, wool processing, domestic arts, black powder shooting competition, and more. Additional activities include a Scavenger Hunt, informative lectures, raptors, mammals, and reptiles provided by Nature’s Educators, storytelling by Angel Vigil, music of the period by Rex Rideout, The American Indian powwow and dance demonstrations by the Denver Singers, and artwork by Spanish colonial artists using traditional methods. Concessions will be provided onsite by The Fort Restaurant.

When: Saturday and Sunday, September 21 & 22, 2024, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Both Days.

Cost: Adults $10; Children ages 7 – 12: $5; 6 & Under Free; Parking is Free

Where: The Fort,  19192 Highway 8, Morrison, Colorado – in Southwest Denver “Red Rocks Country.”

Why:  For an interactive history lesson! Mountain men trappers’ and traders’ encampments as it was at Bent’s Old Fort in the 1830s and 1840s. Meet the Indian Nations today – ceremonial dances, singing, and the history of each respective Indian nation, many of whose ancestors traded at Bent’s Old Fort. Meet the award-winning Spanish Colonial artists who carry on their culture with handmade retablos and bultos, tin art, micaceous clay pottery, and beautiful weavings from churro wool.

Storytellers, music with Rex Rideout, and much more! Delicious food – frito pie, tamales, and more from the Fort!
