DETAILS: Join us for the 35th annual Friendship Powwow on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at the Denver Art Museum (DAM). As one of the DAM’s longest- running events, the Friendship Powwow is an amazing opportunity to come together and celebrate the culture and creativity of diverse Indigenous communities across Denver and the Front Range.
Developed annually in collaboration with members of the regional Indigenous community, this event will feature Native American dance competitions, hands-on activities for the whole family and prize drawings, as well as artist, food and vendor booths.
Check our website for specific program details. All are invited to join our local Indigenous community and enjoy music and dance performances from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The celebration includes a jewelry making art activity with Tara Gover in the Creative Hub from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Indigenous-led non-profits will offer fry bread and Indian tacos, and vendors will be showcasing jewelry, art, crafts, clothing, and much more!
The Grand Entry, when all the dancers perform together, will begin at 11 a.m. inside the Martin Building’s Sie Welcome Center and Sturm Grand Pavilion.
September 7 is a Free Day at the DAM and general admission will be free of charge for ALL visitors. For more information, visit the museum’s website.
