See Dr. Seuss’ “Green Eggs and Ham” at this family concert

It’s Dr. Seuss like you’ve never seen him before! This 2024 Festival Family Concert, conducted by Jacob Joyce, includes a fully-staged adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ beloved children’s classic “Green Eggs and Ham” featuring musical storytellers Really Inventive Stuff, mezzo-soprano Jennifer DeDominici, and the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra.

What: The Colorado Music Festival’s Family Concert is an annual tradition. This year’s concert includes a fully-staged adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ beloved children’s classic “Green Eggs and Ham” featuring musical storytellers Really Inventive Stuff.

When: Sunday, July 7, 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

Where: The Family Concert and all other Festival concerts will take place at Chautauqua Auditorium (900 Baseline Road, Boulder, CO).

 Additional Information:  This engaging Family Concert also includes Felix Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream Overture, Mikhail Glinka’s Ruslan and Ludmilla Overture, and a musical twist on three of Aesop’s most familiar fables: “The Fox and the Crow,” “The Dog and His Reflection,” and “The Tortoise and the Hare.”

Immediately preceding the Family Concert is the Suzuki Play-In, an opportunity for Suzuki cellists, violists and violinists of all ages and abilities to create music together. The Suzuki Play-In is free, open to the public and begins at 9:30 a.m. on the lawn outside of Chautauqua Auditorium.
