It’s not just about books at the library: Arapahoe Libraries recently announced two free kid-friendly events.
Touch-a-Truck
When: Wednesday, May 22, 9-11 am
Where: Smoky Hill Library, 5430 S. Biscay Cir., Centennial
Who: all ages
Honk the horn and turn the wheel at ‘Touch-a-Truck’! Construction trucks and other cool vehicles are taking over the parking lot at Smoky Hill Library on Wednesday, May 22, from 9-11 am. Kids can climb on and explore these awesome trucks in person. The event is free and open to all ages.
Art Gallery Opening
When: Thursday, May 2, 6-7:30 pm
Where: Koelbel Library, 5955 S. Holly St., Centennial
Who: ages 11+
Arapahoe Libraries will host a reception honoring 2024 Featured Artist Latasha Greene. Greene will give a short presentation followed by a viewing of the art gallery. The event is family-friendly and recommended for ages 11 and up. Light refreshments will be provided.
Greene is a Denver-based painter and illustrator who loves the outdoors. She aims to share that passion to help show that the outdoors is for everyone!

Reserve free passes up to 14 days in advance. Participating cultural institutions include the Butterfly Pavilion, the Denver Trolley, Denver Zoo, History Colorado Center, the Colorado Railroad Museum, DMNS and more.
