The Denver Art Museum: It’s free!  It’s educational! It’s fun!

All families are welcome at the Denver Art Museum! And thanks to the Bellco Free for Kids program, all visitors 18 and under enjoy free general admission to the museum daily, ensuring that more children than ever can experience the transformative power of art. 

Family-friendly Programs at the DAM

Sensory-friendly Mornings

Sensory-Friendly Mornings are an opportunity for kids with neurodiversity or sensory processing disorders and their families to visit the museum in a safe and fun way. The museum opens early at 9 am, dims the lights, and provides tools to guide a sensory-friendly experience for the whole family.

Sensory-Friendly Mornings take place quarterly on the second Sunday of the month. Throughout the museum; first hour only in Martin Building

  • October 8, 9 am-noon
  • January 14, 2024
  • April 14, 2024
  • July 14, 2024

October’s Sensory-Friendly Morning will feature a Meet and Make art workshop, sound therapy, and plenty of sensory-friendly art and fun! The event will begin in the Martin Building at 9 am and expand to the full museum at 10 am. All our art and therapy activities will be available from 9 am-12 pm.

Create Playdate

Create Playdate is an early childhood program at the Denver Art Museum for families with children ages 3-5 (though siblings are always welcome too!). Create Playdate offers a range of experiences within the museum, including storytime, artmaking, or even an in-gallery activity. Join in the creativity and fun!

Create Playdate offered on the second Thursday of every month, from October to May:

  • May 9, 2024

Create Playdate is included in general admission which is free for youth 18 and younger.
