I didn’t mean to do it. I went to Trader Joe’s they had all the pumpkin stuff. I got swept up in it. I sort of don’t love that all the pumpkin is out there already. But then hotly debated topic runs through my head, why wait when it is something you love? When is it appropriate? Is mid-September not late enough for pumpkin love? I don’t know, but I may sip my Starbucks Chai Pumpkin Spice Latte and ponder that a bit.
Energy Day Energy Day is a free family festival event on Saturday, Sept. 23, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. that consists of numerous interactive demonstrations that familiarize young students with the different types of energy and get them excited to see how a pathway in STEM could be their future career. Emphasis is also placed on the importance of energy in our world, conservation and efficiency in our daily lives, in schools, and in the home. West Metro Family Fire Muster. Saturday, September 23, 2023, West Metro Fire is hosting the Family Fire Muster at their training center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is FREE and kids (and adults will learn all about fire safety and prevention in a fun and interactive way. Colfax Chicken Fest. The Colfax Chicken Fest is a silly, weird, quirky little festival celebrating Colfax Avenue and the history of the HUB building. The fin will take place on September 16 from 12p.m. to 4 p.m. You will be able to see Chicken sculptures, participate in events, and indulge in delicious treats from food trucks. It will take place at the 40 West Art District (6501 W Colfax Ave).
