Denver Burger Battle is TODAY!

Denver Burger Battle

I went to a BBQ this weekend when the conversation turned to who has the best burger? While several people around me said they like Bud’s (in Sedalia) one confessed Cherry Cricket is the only reason he goes to Cherry Creek.

What makes the best burger? Is it all about the bun? Is it about the beef (or lack of – for our vegetarian friends)? Is it how it is cooked or all the amazing toppings?

I’m open to trying any of them. One time I went with a friend to a burger place and the waiter talked us into trying one with peanut butter and an egg. I didn’t think it sounded that great – until I tried it. Now, every time I visit her we have to go there to get that burger!

Denver Burger Battle is Thursday, August 3 at the Tivoli Quad. They’ve gathered Denver’s top burger restaurants to bring their best, most creative burgers so you can determine once and for all who has the best burger in town. Taste burgers from 20 restaurants and vote for your favorite.

Among the competitors are returning contenders:

    • Stanley Beer Hall with the Limoncello Burger (Tonali’s prime rib burger, limoncello-creamed goat cheese, Meyer lemon preserves and citrus greens)
    • Rooted Craft Kitchen with the Colorado Burger (Wagyu beef patty, pueblo green chilies, diced bacon, American cheese, crispy onions on a toasted Brioche Bun);
    • Cherry Cricket with the Cricket Royale (braised short rib, caramelized onions, duxelles, melted cave-aged Swiss cheese, roasted garlic onion jam, black pepper aioli and crispy onions on a pretzel bun);
    • Illegal Burger will feature the Birra Burger (all-natural beef patty, adobo braised beef, grilled asiago cheese, cilantro lime sauce, and consume for dipping).

But that is not all there will be some heavy competition from the new contenders:

  • Next Door Kitchen & Bar will have the French Onion Soup Bistro Burger (two smash patties, Frico, caramelized onions, crispy onions, remoulade and a side of French onion soup for dipping)
  • Hickory & Ash with the H&A Moomami Burger (a smash burger with Moomami jam, raclette whiz, charred Fresno ketchup, dill pickle mayo and beer braised onions).

I intend to not eat all day in anticipation of all the beefy yumminess.

Tickets range from $79 (General Admission) to $154 (VIP). Get yours now!
