These secret little Colorado parks pack a big punch

Little and Starbucks Parks, Denver

Do you want to escape Denver’s crowds and have fun exploring?

The 400-acre Little Park was among Denver’s first 10 mountain parks. It sits just outside of Idledale and is home to a unique octagonal-roofed well house built in 1919. It is a great location for a serene day beside Bear Creek with fishing access along Bear Creek.

Starbuck Park is a small 11-acre parcel located just east of the town of Idledale. The park has a small well house but no other facilities.

Fun Things to Do

Hiking: The trailhead at Little Park’s parking lot provides access to the west on the Bear Creek Trail toward Lair o’the Bear, Corwina, O’Fallon and Pence Parks.

Biking: The trailhead at Little Park’s parking lot provides access to the west on the Bear Creek Trail for mountain bikers toward Lair o’the Bear, Corwina, O’Fallon and Pence Parks.
