Cat lovers unite at Cat Fest Colorado with celebrities, costume contest and more!

Cats Fest Celebrities

Are you a cat lover?

Cat Fest Colorado, celebrating all things “cat,” makes its much-anticipated Colorado Springs debut Saturday, July 29 at the Colorado Springs Event Center. Following the hugely popular Denver debut in November, the event promises an entertainment lineup that will leave you “CATatonic.” The day long festival includes celebrity cats, dozens of adoptable cats from a variety of shelters, the Rock Cats in concert, a Cat Video Cafe, a TICA Cat Show, loads of cat-themed vendors, a mystical Egyptian Cat Oasis, a cat art show, a cat toy craft station, and much more.

Rescues!

Cats are the main attraction here, and there will be plenty for the audience to meet. More than 8 local rescue agencies jumped on Cat Fest’s offer for a “free booth” to showcase adoptable cats.  In addition to those dozens of cats, TICA (The International Cat Association) will be hosting a Cat Show featuring dozens MORE cats who can be visited in their benching area. TICA is also hosting Breed Meet-and-Greets for the audience to pet and get info on Sphynx cats, Ragdolls, British Shorthairs and more.

Celebrities!

And then there’s the Celebrity Cats. Tuna and The Rock Cats, an all-rescue band, are purr-forming a special 2:00 pm concert –  their ONLY Colorado Springs appearance this year. The “opening act” is a Clicker Training demo with owner Samantha! The Rock Cats are part of the Amazing Acro-Cats troupe, recently featured on Netflix‘s “Cat People” series. Also appearing at Cat Fest  with meet-and-greet botohs all day long are Instagram cat stars, Liebchen Travels and That Cat Pluto.  And the festival’s human guest, Georgia-based Catio Bob, takes the Main Stage at 1:00 to discuss “The Benefits of Catios.”

Other Cat Fun!

Cat Fest celebrates the magical nature of cats with a Mystical Egyptian Cat Oasis. Embellished with 8-ft tall Cat Goddess statues, it’s an area where attendees may get a tarot reading, visit with a pet psychic, or pay homage to their cats who have crossed over by adding their names or photos to a golden Memory Wall. If that’s not your cup of tea, you may enjoy the Cat Video Cafe, where multiple large TV screens play non-stop cat videos while you grab lunch or a snack from the cat-themed menu.

There are plenty of ways for cat lovers to be part of the fun, from the Cat Trivia Bowl, free Face Painting, a costume contest with prizes, Hello Kitty bounce house and more. You can also enter your artwork into our Memorial Louis Wain Cat Art Show. Almost all entertainment and activities are included with the admission ticket price.

Cat Fest Colorado is sponsored by TICA (the International Cat Association), Dr. Elsey’s Precious Cat Products and EveryCat Health Foundation, all of whom will be at the festival. The festival’s Main Stage Sponsor is Lakewood-based Evolution Veterinary Specialists.

Admission to Cat Fest is $20. Family 4-packs are just $69 until July 27. Kids age 5 and under are admitted free of charge. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door. Hours: 10am-5pm, Saturday, July 29. Parking is FREE.
