Be sure to check out Celebrating Women Visionaries for Women’s History Month.
Women are to be celebrated and a fantastic place to do it right here in Denver!
Denver Milk Market, the 16-concept all-local food hall by Denver Chef Frank Bonanno, and LoDo’s Dairy Block micro-district, are once again celebrating Women’s History Month by hosting Women In Their Infinite Forms, a special March art installation in partnership with Athena Project.
The 10 participating Colorado artists for 2023 include Summer Allen, Elsa Carenbauer, Teresa Castaneda, Anna Gross, Courtney Griffin, Calla Michaelides, Denise Richardson, Lexi Richey, Sarah Tenney and S.L. Yang. Each artist was asked to create their interpretation of the theme using tabletop mirrors as the artwork base.
Denver Milk Market & Dairy Block will celebrate International Women’s Day and the participating artists with an Art Strut on Wednesday, March 8th in the Venture X co-working space from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. featuring libations by Dairy Block’s Blanchard Family Wines.
The pieces will be on display at Dairy Block from March 1st – 31st and will be available for purchase to help support the Athena Project.
Athena Project will also be hosting Artful Reflections on Wednesday, March 22nd from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., a program is designed to uplift women artists. This moderated conversation is an opportunity for artists and non-artists to connect, discuss and reflect on the impact of art. Advanced registration is required.
Athena Project is a Colorado non-profit that empowers women through the arts and creates a world with gender equity where women’s voices are amplified. The Athena Project believes that “women” means many things and can be a complicated term. They recognize that the term “women” does not automatically include all aspects of the gender spectrum and are working to create a safer space for the expression and growth for all women, non-binary, and LGBTQIA+ individuals.
