I really believe that as a parent, more is caught than taught. I thought my budgeting and looking for deals was something that I was teaching my kids. But recently, my daughter was telling me the things she wanted to buy for her friends. I knew these items were above what she could afford, so I had to remind her that budgeting is important all year long – but especially for Christmas. So, a gentle reminder (and what I told her), I will tell you. Your friends like you no matter what (or even if) you buy them something for Christmas.
