Oktoberfest in Denver: Family-friendly Events with Bavarian Fun

Denver has several Oktoberfests around town so you can get your fill of pretzels and Bavarian fun. Plus, most are kid-friendly!

The Denver Oktoberfest

September 16-18; September 23-25

Long Dog Derby DenverThe Denver Oktoberfest has been a staple two-weekend festival in Downtown Denver since 1969. From keg bowling to stein hoisting,  a costume contest, long dog derby, live music and more, there’s something here for Oktoberfest pros and first-timers. So grab your stein, throw on your lederhosen and join them. Larimer and 21st in the Ballpark District.

Castle Rock Oktoberfest

September 17, 1-9 p.m.

Downtown Castle Rock will celebrate the Castle Rock Oktoberfest on September 17 from 1-9 pm. Enjoy Colorado’s finest breweries, food trucks and family fun including an 18 ft. Backyard Slide Bounce House, Giant Velcro Wall, 30 ft. Backyard Obstacle Course, Gunsmoke Shooting Gallery, 24-foot Climbing Wall, Face Painter and Balloon Artist. 400 Wilcox St, Castle Rock.

Highlands Ranch Oktoberfest

September 17, 1-9 p.m. 

Gather your family and friends for this cultural event with German food, music, Poka Folka, and, of course, great beers from Paulaner. They will have live music and non-stop entertainment for the kids, too. Children will enjoy balloons, face painters, and games until their hearts are content.  Don’t miss the Annual Dachshund Races. Enter your Dachshund or just come to watch the fun! Town Center South; 9288 Dorchester Street Highlands Ranch.

Gluten-free Oktoberfest

September 17

· Gluten-Free Oktoberfest. There is still a way to celebrate all things Oktoberfest if you are gluten-free September 17  from 12 noon to 10 p.m. at the Holidaily Golden Taproom oktoberfest. Beer tapping, food trucks (with Gluten-free offerings), cornhole, music, stein holding and games.
