A new arcade is now open in Denver, but with a fun twist! ARTcade is now open at Understudy, the Denver Theatre District’s arts and cultural experimental space.
What Is ARTcade?
ARTcade is akin to a traditional arcade, albeit with an artistic twist. Each of the ARTcade games were designed or customized by artists, including pinball tables, claw machines, gachapon-style vending machines, a coin pusher, and more.
Prizes, both in the claw machines and at the redemption booth, are also provided by a collection of talented artists. Examples of prizes include enamel pins, coloring books, miniature paintings, jewelry, tea towels, art prints, small sculptures, and much more.
ARTcade promises to deliver a fun and friendly experience to lovers of classic arcade games and contemporary art alike. Come and enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience occurring at the intersection of gaming and art. ARTcade is appropriate for all ages.
When: December 8 – January 30, open Wednesday through Sunday, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Closed December 15th -19th due to Convention Center construction, and closed December 24, 25, and 31 for holidays.
Where: Denver Theatre District’s Understudy, located at the Colorado Convention Center at 890 C 14th St, next RTD Light Rail stop.
The ARTcade is made possible in part by a generous grant from the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation.
