One year, in celebration of Oktoberfest, I tried to make my own pretzels. The recipe made it seem like it would be simple. But even though it might have been simple for the recipe writer, they did not turn out for me. But this time of year, I do crave a beer and pretzel (with a name like Gretchen there is no wonder I feel a certain pull to celebrate Oktoberfest). I am excited about the Oktobefest celebrations to return and to satisfy my annual cravings.
