Deals: Denver attractions pass discount, free courtyard yoga, gas savings and more

Denver Deals
Is there something in your life that you have avoided because it SOUNDS hard? Me too. I had wanted to do Tough Mudder for a couple of years – but not enough to actually train for it. It was just sort of this elusive thing. Then this year I was offered an opportunity to do it and I did it! Wow! I can’t believe I’ve waited this long! It was like a kid getting to play in mud puddles (and yes, they have a kid’s course too). But what I like is the lesson they tell you at the beginning and you have to keep in mind through the course – you can’t really do it [or life] alone. You need help and you need to turn around and help others over obstacles! Wow – inspiration and grit (both mental and physical). I will for sure do it again next year!

GetOutPass Discount. Enjoy Denver’s best attractions like Elitch Gardens, Fat Cats, and Bandimere Speedway all year long for 45% off. The GetOutPass is a 12-month membership to Denver’s best attractions that can be paid for in a few ways, making it affordable for everyone.  Dairy Block Happenings. Get your glam on at Blanchard Family Wines at the Dairy Block August 7 from noon to 3 p.m. at their Glamour & Wine Photoshoot Party on Saturday, Aug. 7thThe photoshoot is complete with professional styling, makeup, photography – and of course delicious wine! BPRewards Gas Savings. Gas is expensive this summer! Here is a way you can save without having to buy a bunch of groceries (I do like the King Soopers and Safeway gas rewards). Join the BPmeRewards by downloading the app, use the promo code Savings1, and then use your app or loyalty number when you purchase $10 or more in gas at a BP station. They will load an additional $0.50 per gallon off the next purchase!

National Chicken Wing Day. My kids and I love chicken wings – maybe because we can make a total mess while we’re eating them and it feels a bit like playing with y our food. But National Chicken Wing day is Thursday, July 29th! At Buffalo Wild Wings you can get a free order of boneless wings with the purchase of another, at Hooter’s you can munch on 10 free boneless wings with the purchase of any 10 wings and at Wingstop get two free bone-in thighs with a purchase of $15 or more at Doordash or Thighstop.com.

Panera Gift Cards. Save 20% on gift card purchases made online between now and August 31.

Hallmark Card. When you join their Hallmark Loyalty program (which is free) you get one card a month absolutely free. Plus, they have a new program that is a “sign and send” card. You pick out a card, handwrite a message, upload that message, then Hallmark prints it onto the card and sends it for you! You get to try that once free as well when you join their loyalty club.

Colorado’s Birthday. Colorado became a state on August 1, 1876. On Colorado Day, History Colorado is offering free admission to their museums across the state. With the biggest celebration at History Colorado Center – from alpacas to mascots to professional chalk artists, there will be more than 20 attractions surrounded by live music provided by local artists, including taiko drummers to jazz guitars. Plus, ice cream, popcorn and other refreshments will be available.  Advanced registration is highly recommended. Register at: https://www.historycolorado.org/colorado-day-2021

Qwixx Dice Game. I am usually the person that brings the games to the family gatherings. When my nephew asked me last weekend what game I brought, I have to admit I was a little embarrassed that I had not brought anything. When I got home I found this cool game called Qwixx on Amazon for just $4.99 (normally $11.99). And small enough for me to stick in my car and have it at the ready next time…or start saving for stocking stuffers already!

Free Days. We compiled a list of several free days earlier this year. As a reminder to that, next week on August 4 you can go to the National Parks for free in celebration of the Anniversary of the Signing of the Great American Outdoors Act. Plus,  The Denver Art Museum allows kids 18 and younger free every day (thanks to a grant); and several other locations have deals when you pick up the packs at the libraries or use SNAP benefits.
