5 Reasons Every Day Is an Adventure at Camp Gardner

Any adult who ever attended a summer camp as a kid can attest to how the experience opened the door to new adventures in discovery, exploration, and learning. Not only do summer camps provide a fun environment to keep kids actively engaged, but they present opportunities for new friendships and a lifetime of memories. That’s where Camp Gardner comes in for children in the Denver area.

What is Camp Gardner?

Modeled off the concept of a traditional summer camp environment, Camp Gardner is a practical extension of The Gardner School of DTC’s fun, educational school-year programs for ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Yes—it’s true—summer camp isn’t just for the big kids, as even infants, toddlers, and preschoolers take part in the Camp Gardner fun! For older children who will be entering kindergarten in the fall, Camp Gardner is ideal for additional kindergarten preparation.

Camp Gardner’s 10-week program continues on the path of The Gardner School’s full day academically-focused lessons but with a more relaxed, summer camp environment. With creative weekly themes, fun visitors from the community, and exciting outdoor activities, Camp Gardner gives students the opportunity for fun-filled learning throughout the summer months. Even more, children and parents can rest easy with The Gardner School’s additional COVID-19 health and safety measures to help keep campers and teachers safe.

Here are just a few of the many ways that every day is an adventure at Camp Gardner:

  1. Themed Learning

Camp Gardner’s themes are always a hit with students, parents, and teachers. From colorful and eye-catching themed décor to the theme-focused lessons and S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) activities, students are transported each day to a unique environment that makes the academic experience truly fun and memorable.

  1. Fun Attire

Every camper (and parent) loves seeing their little ones in their Camp Gardner t-shirts on Fridays, and the special dress up days always reveal the most adorable characters and creatures that match the camp’s theme.

  1. Outdoor Play

Camp Gardner attendees always enjoy being outdoors, and the yearly themed activities typically makes outdoor play and learning even more exciting. With everything from water recreation to plenty of free time, outdoor play is a top highlight of Camp Gardner.

  1. Special Visitors

Firefighters. Zookeepers. Scientists. Musicians. These are just a few of the many special visitors who safely make appearances during Camp Gardner. Learning takes on a whole new form when experienced from real-life professionals, and campers can’t wait to see who the next special guest might be each week.

  1. Summer Treats

With Camp Gardner’s themed snacks and meals and special summer treat days, you could say that Camp Gardner always leaves a wonderful taste in the mouths of our students. Camp Gardner is a real treat for all.
