Boulder International Film Festival Hosts Summer Drive-In Series

One of the good things to come out of COVID-19 is the return of the drive-in movie! The Boulder International Film Festival is taking things outside for its BIFF Drive-In at the Boulder Municipal Airport which will feature award-winning films from past film festivals, a few classic films and new films not yet released in Boulder. The drive-in takes place every Saturday night — from June 20 to September 26 and tickets are going fast!

Gates open at 7:30 p.m. with live music at 8 p.m. Film starts at dusk — around 9 p.m. The parking lot will close 15 minutes before the film begins at about 8:45 p.m. A new film is announced each week.

A few considerations:

Tickets & Check-In: To reduce contact, all tickets must be purchased online at biff1.com. No cash or card transactions on-site.

Tickets are sold PER VEHICLE, not per person. The price is $30 per vehicle, plus a small processing fee. A limited number of single-occupant tickets will be available at $15 per vehicle. Sorry, no campers or buses. No refunds or exchanges.

Tickets will be scanned at the entrance through a closed car window. Please hold your printed tickets or mobile phones up to the window.

A colored tag will be placed under your windshield wiper, corresponding to the height of your vehicle.

The gates will close shortly after sunset (about 8:45). For safety reasons, no cars will be admitted after the lot is closed. We suggest arriving early for spaces closer to the screen.

Parking: Cars will be parked so that there is a 9-foot space between vehicles. Our staff will help direct you to the appropriate color-coded parking section based on your vehicle’s height. High-profile vehicles will need to park at the back to ensure that they do not obstruct the view of smaller/ lower vehicles. All vehicles must face forward; no vehicle may back into a space.

Be kind to fellow patrons and to our staff – most of whom are volunteering to help make the Drive-In possible.

HAVE FUN!
