Deals: Valentine’s Day, Colorado Garden and Home Show & More

Valentine’s Day. Most people think of this holiday in the romantic love way. Maybe because I am a single mom, maybe it is just my weird way of thinking of things – I don’t think it has to be all about movie-quality romance – and making people that aren’t paired up sad. I think of Valentine’s simply a day of showing each other love. No matter if that is giving your kids an extra hug and telling them you love them, or calling your parents and saying, “Hey, I love you and everything you have done for me,” or even just starting your own gratitude journal on all the things you love. And in that case, MileHighMamas I wish you the Happiest of Valentine’s Days!

Dairy Block Petite Parade. Saturday, Feb 22nd from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dairy Block will celebrate Mardi Gras with a mini-parade. Create a float for the parade starting with a shoebox. Floats must be lo larger than two feet, by two feet by three feet and must be able to be pulled on wheels. There is a $50 fee for entry of a float – but the parade is FREE to watch.

Colorado Garden and Home Show. When I’m stuck in my house, thanks to snow, I think of all the house projects I want to do – and my Pinterest boards fill up. But there is another way (besides wandering the aisles at Home Depot and Lowe’s) the Colorado Garden and Home show marches into town February 22-March 1. Tickets are on sale now. Kids 12 and under are free. Regular adult admission is $12 ($10 for seniors). Here’s some ticket deals: receive $2 off your ticket when you bring a non-perishable food item or go Monday, February 24 – Thursday, February 27 (admission is two for one).

Winter Park Family Fest. Winter Park Family Fest features slopeside fireworks on Saturday, February 15 from 6 p.m  to 7 p.m.  Gather around the bonfire at the base, eat s’mores, dance with the music and enter for awesome giveaways!

Best Buy Outlet. Did you know that Denver is one of the few cities that has a Best Buy Outlet? You can grab tons of deals at the outlet – these are items that have refurbished, open box or have been returned for some reason.

DGMG Jewelry, Gem & Mineral ShowKids will learn and have fun with activities like crystal digging, Mineral Magic Show, Mineral identification activities, Bat Cave (with rocks that glow in the dark), demonstrations, wire wrapping, geode cracking, and awesome displays of minerals from across the state and around the world.  Jumpstart your collection with 10 minerals plus a chance to win special prizes – in the $1 Grab Bag.  Free parking and Free admission at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, Golden Colorado, February 28 – March 1, 2020

Free Magazines. I may have mentioned this before. I am a total magazine junkie. I love getting magazines in the mail. I have since I was a kid (maybe I should have worked at the Postal Service for as much as I love getting mail). But I rarely ever PAY for them. I do a quick survey and get points. You can do it too! RewardSurvey.com.

Free Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks at Kroger. Kroger has select Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks on sale for just $1 through February 18th (other fruit snacks, roll-ups and Gushers are just $1.99), then use the $1 digital coupon available on your Kroger card app up to five times – making them FREE.

Ski Deals. Skiing can be expensive – but doesn’t have to be when you find deals! Loveland Ski area has partnered with The Party radio station to offer ski hookey days – where you can get a lift ticket for just $35. (These are on specific days – see the link for more details). Or get the Colorado Ski Country’s GEMS card – this little “gem” has all kinds of great deals from two-for-one deals or 30% off a lift ticket. Keystone is offering kids ski free with a two-night stay.
