This past summer my daughter and I went on a tour of several of the Denver area ice cream shops. We did our own informal taste test of the best of the best of the local shops (no chains). I’m really excited to be going to Milkshake Lab tasting at Punchbowl Social in Stapleton. They will have Grasshopper (chocolate milkshake with mint syrup and brown bites), Big Debbie (Vanilla Milkshake with cream filling, cinnamon streusel, granola rim and oatmeal cream pie & ho-ho garnish), and Worms and Dirt. DAM Fun. Denver Art Museum has all kinds of fun activities planned for kids this holiday season! Visit for Winter Break at the DAM (Dec. 21-Jan. 5, closed Dec. 25) with Create-n-Takes and the First Light Family Space available daily. Watch for performances of Art Emergency: Monet Edition weekdays during the break (except for Dec. 24 and 25 and Jan. 1). Stop in whenever the museum is open for hands-on creativity in the Paint Studio with artist demonstrations from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. All break week activities are included in general admission, which is free for kids 18 and younger.

Comfort Dental on December 23. Since 1984 Comfort Dental has given free services to those in need. This year Cares Day is on December 23 from 7:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon. It is first-come, first served. The services range from cleanings to extractions.
