posted by: Mile High Mamas
Neil Armstrong said the famous words, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” on July 20, 1969. In honor of this achievement, get your space suits on and come celebrate the 50th anniversary of the lunar landing at Fort Collins Museum of Discovery this July!
First, join them for FCMoD’s newest 360° film in the OtterBox Digital Dome Theater, CAPCOM GO! The Apollo Story. From award-winning fulldome producer NSC Creative, CAPCOM GO! The Apollo Story is an immersive historical documentary that showcases the achievements of the Apollo program and what it took to put the first human on the Moon. This 25-minute film is a fun and inspirational experience for all ages and is showing daily at either 11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. or 2:00-2:30 p.m. and is $4/$2 for members.
The #MoonMonth at FCMoD celebrations continue with programs and events all month long! Bring the whole family for Museum Takeover: Moon Landing on July 20, where we’ll deep dive into space with fun and educational activity stations in the exhibit gallery. Plus, save the date for Little STEAMers: Space Explorers on July 11 and 15, Storytime in the Dome: A Moon of My Own on July 18, Discovery After Dark: Humans in Space on July 18, and Discovery Lab: Rocket Launch on July 27.
The mission of Fort Collins Museum of Discovery is to create meaningful opportunities to learn, reflect, and have fun through hands-on and collections-based explorations in science and culture.
