I went to see Top Gun at Film on the Rocks the other night. It was a great reminder of how much fun these shows are. They start with a band (and this show also featured comedian, Josh Blue). Then the movie is played. The crowd quotes along, cheers or otherwise reacts to the movie. The sound system is concert-quality (so I FELT when the jets took off in the film). And of course, they are at Red Rocks – which is awesome already (and means you can bring in your dinner with you). The next show is Mighty Ducks on August 5. Get your tickets now!
Fourth of July. One of the things I love most about fourth of July is that there are tons of FREE things to do. Even if you don’t pay for one of the big fireworks displays, like the Colorado Rockies, there are plenty to see and do. We’ve compiled a
list here.
Cirque du Soleil. Have you always wondered what the big deal is with Cirque shows? They are really something you have to experience. Even I have a hard time explaining what exactly a show is. Right now, you can save up to
25% off tickets for Corteo August 15-22 at the Pepsi Center.
Cherry Creek Arts Festival. July 5-7 the streets of Cherry Creek North will be full of fun and activity with the
Cherry Creek Arts Festival. See curated art, participate in activities (Artivity Avenue) and my kids favorite, the culinary stage (they usually have samples which MAY be why they love it so much), live music and performances and better yet, it’s FREE.
Arc Thrift Stores. Celebrate the 4
th and Savings at
Arc Thrift Stores in a one-day sale on the Fourth of July. Almost everything in the store is 50% off! Summer Dresses, swimsuits, shorts, t-shorts, pool toys, barbecue supplies and more!
Gigi’s Cupcakes. Gigi’s Cupcakes has a special cupcake weekly on Tuesday for just $2.
Chick-fil-A Cow Appreciation Day. The annual opportunity to dress like a cow (and show it off) is Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A on Tuesday, July 9. When you dress like a cow you get a free entrée. Yep. FREE.
Amazon Prime Days. Start putting things in your basket – Amazon Prime Day is coming up July 15 & 16. It is two days of awesome deals! AND if you are not a prime member, you can sign up for a FREE 30 day membership! (Think Black Friday deals in July). Plus, this year they are showing an exclusive Taylor Swift concert on Prime.
Denver Broncos Half Price Tickets. Sometimes I feel like time moves really quickly and just now that we are finally getting some good summer-like weather, we’re already talking about football season. (TBH, football is a year-round conversation around our house). Denver Broncos are once again offering ½ price tickets. But you need to pre-register to buy them. They go on sale July 16. So sign up now!
Free Summer Concerts and Movies. One of the best parts about summer is being outside in the warm evenings and what could be better than a picnic in a park and
free live music or a movie? Nothing! We’ve rounded up some of the best of the best in town here:
Summer Concerts.
Staycation at Curtis Hotel. Spend some summer quality time (sans digital) at the Curtis hotel. They are encouraging families to “Stay Happy” this summer – with the new
Camp Curtis Digital Detox. Campers get a map of their favorite downtown Denver Destinations – and enjoy a $20 stipend to pay for B-cycle bikes or kayak rental at Confluence Kayaks. And they get a Urban Survival Kit.
