Join Colorado Parks and Wildlife for our upcoming fishing clinics with classes ranging from fly fishing in the high country to family events. Check out the April, May and June schedules below. 

April Angler Education Clinics

Rocky Mountain Fly Clinic – Saturday, April 20 in Littleton, CO. Register online for clinic details and registration. ​

Family Crappie Fishing & Cooking Clinic – Saturday, April 27 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Buckingham Lake in Loveland, CO. This clinic is a great family opportunity where participants will learn successful techniques for crappie as well as how to fillet and cook them. $10 registration for an individual or $20 for a family. To register, email Alex Doehling at alex.doehling@state.co.us.

European Nymphing  – Monday, April 29 in Sedalia, CO. Register online for clinic details and registration. 

Family Fishing Sampler – Tuesday, April 30 in at St. Vrain State Park in Firestone, CO. Register online for clinic details and registration.

Family Fishing Sampler – Tuesday, May 7 at St. Vrain State Park in Firestone, CO. Register online for clinic details and registration. 

European Nymphing – Monday, May 13 in Sedalia, CO. Register online for clinic details and registration. 

Walleye/Crappie Fishing & Cooking Clinic – Saturday, May 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Julesburg Reservoir in Julesburg, CO. Learn how to catch, fillet and cook crappie and walleye at this great clinic. Fly Fishing Skills Clinic – Thursday, May 30 in Denver, CO. Register online for clinic details and registration. 

June Angler Education Courses

Family Fishing Clinic – Sunday, June 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Jefferson Lake in Jefferson, CO. Escape the heat of summer and learn tactics for Colorado’s high mountain lakes. We will show you multiple techniques that work on every high mountain lake. This is a family-friendly clinic. Registration fee is $10 for individual or $20 for a family. Learn to Fly Fish – Monday, June 3 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Lake Lehow in Littleton, CO. Learn how easy and inexpensive it is to get started fly fishing. All gear is provided or you can bring your own and we will help set it up. You will learn about fly selection, basic tackle to get started, knot tying, casting and will then spend time practicing your new skills fishing a private lake. Registration fee is $10 for individual or $20 for a family. To register, email Alex Doehling at alex.doehling@state.co.us.

Family Fishing Sampler – Tuesday, June 4 at Staunton State Park in Pine, CO. Register online for clinic details and registration. 

Lake Tactics Fly Fishing – Wednesday, June 5 at Lake Lehow in Littleton, CO. This intermediate fly fishing class will help you catch more fish! We will improve your casting, learn new knots, as well as various types of retrieves to bring your fly to life and get more strikes. We will also go into multiple fly rigs to catch more fish and use of indicators. Registration fee is $10 for individual or $20 for a family.
