Summer Camp: Have fun and develop life-long skills at Lake Dillon Theatre Company Youth Camps

The Lake Dillon Theatre Company is known for it’s intimate and high-quality productions. These productions are known to challenge, inspire and entertain audiences from all sorts of backgrounds. When you attend any Lake Dillon Theatre production, you can guarantee it will be a high-quality experience, the same can be said for their youth education programs.

Culturally engaging programs have long term impacts on youth that follow them through their adult years. According to a recent study by the Colorado Arts Evaluation Group, programs like the LDTC Youth Camps and Classes enhance youth’s social acuity and cognitive engagement skills.

This impact is reflected through the parents and students who are a part of the programs. “I have three children who have been involved in the Lake Dillon Theatre Youth Programs, and all three of them have had great experiences. The focus is on having fun while developing skills and respecting each other. I have seen them considering responsibility and cooperation while at the same time rejoicing in a sense of individuality and creativity. Things don’t always go exactly the way they imagine, but it has really taught them that with perseverance and working together, wonderful things are possible,” said Jennifer Riberdy of Silverthorne.

The Lake Dillon Theatre Company recognizes that today’s youth have limited access to arts education and cultural enrichment programs, which provide young people with increased exposure to concepts in arts-based critical thinking, self-identity building, and empathetic listening.

In 2019, the Lake Dillon Theatre Company will feature the most extensive variety of youth camps and classes than ever before. Camps include the Spring Class Dance Class Kick Ball Change, nine summer camps including week-long camps for children ranging from elementary aged students to teens.
