It’s the weekend of the sloth, Denver Restaurant Week, learn to play hockey for free and the Denver FamilyFest. See our event calendar for full listings.

Free Day at the Plains Conservation Center
Feb 21, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Free Days occur throughout the year, thanks to funding from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD). No tickets are needed for admission to Free Days. Free Days are for regular Gardens hours only and do not include ticketed events.

IAA Ice Climbing World Cup Finals & Barbegazi Winter Festival at Civic Center Park
Feb 22 – 24
From Feb. 22-24, Denver will host the UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup Finals at Civic Center Park along with a new free winter festival called BARBEGAZI. During the competition, nearly 70 elite athletes from 18 countries will compete for glory on jaw-dropping, 50-feet-tall walls of sheer ice in two events: Speed and Lead. The Speed event is an all-out vertical sprint to the top of the wall using ice axes and crampons. In the Lead event, ice climbers will employ both technique and strength to ascend the wall, often upside-down or hanging on by one point of contact.

The 14th annual Denver Restaurant Week will take place from Feb. 22- March 3. Hundreds of Denver’s top restaurants offer multi-course dinners for tasty prices.

Snow White and The Ugly Duckling: Two Ballets at Broomfield Auditorium
Feb 22 – 24
Now you can experience two fairy tales through ballet. See the magical Grimm’s fairy tale of beautiful Snow White and follow the Ugly Duckling in Andersen’s classic story as she transforms into an elegant swan.

3rd annual Denver Travel & Adventure Show at the Colorado Convention Center
Feb 23 –24
 The 3rd annual Denver Travel & Adventure Show, Denver’s only major consumer travel event, will be the first stop travelers need to make on their next trip, whether across the state or around the world.  Visitors can explore thousands of vacation options, discover more than 150 destinations worldwide, plan trips in person with travel experts, meet travel celebrities, attend dozens of educational seminars and be immersed in faraway cultures.

Bring the entire family to Denver FamilyFest, Denver’s Annual Indoor Family Festival.

Try Hockey For Free at Sport Stable
Feb 23, 12:00 – 1:00 pm
 Try Hockey For Free is to introduce kids and families to hockey. This event is totally free and includes an hour on the ice, gear to use for the event and coaching from some of our top coaches. No experience necessary but be sure to register!  Start and end time – 12:00-1:00pm (Coed hour, East Rink), 12:40-1:00pm (Girls only, Skill Pad).

Mom UP! Project at Green Spaces
Feb 23, 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm
The 2nd Annual Mom UP! project is an indoor festival combining pop up shopping, unique guest speakers and school fundraising. $8/ticket will be donated back to the school PTA/PTO of your choice within Colorado (public and private).

Così fan tutte for Kids at the Loveland Opera Theatre
Feb 23, 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Loveland Opera Theatre brings Così fan tutte – “A School for Lovers” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – to the Rialto Theater in downtown Loveland Feb. 22 – March 3, 2019. The opera pairs comedy and commentary at its best, set to some of the most extraordinary music Mozart ever wrote.

Ballerina by Degas Tea Party (PPAC) at Pinnacle Performing Arts Center
Feb 23, 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm
Ballerina by Degas tells the story of a young dancer, Simone, her rapid rise within the ballet company and the Impressionist artist, Degas, who records it all. Dappled with jealousies and rivalries, under the watchful eyes of their mothers, the young dancers vie for position at the barre and in the company.

Inside the Orchestra’s Tiny Tots Concerts at Temple Emanuel
Feb 26, 9:30 am – 11:30 am
Tiny Tots gets children truly inside the orchestra by seating the audience on the floor and surrounding them with a 30+ piece orchestra. Designed for children six and under, this 45-minute program gives young ones the chance to interact with the music and learn about the instruments in the process. Tiny Tots audiences receive an up-close-and-personal performance in a casual, fun environment. The experience is one-of-a-kind!

The Crystal Ice Festival at the Museum of Outdoor Arts
Dec. 15, 2018 – March 15, 2019
Deep in the winter covered forest atop a high mountain is the magical Crystal Ice Castle. Where winter wishes are sent to be considered by the Frost Queen Andorra. Your wish may be granted by the Frost Queen, but those that are not are buried deep within the ice of the castle for future consideration. A found object installation of old glass, cut crystal and acrylic. Including objects such as vases, candlesticks, goblets, bowls and more. Once Upon a Playground at Fort Collins Museum of Discovery
January 29 – May 26, 2019
In Fort Collins Museum of Discovery’s special traveling exhibition, Once Upon a Playground, take an interactive journey from the past to the present… and beyond. Share in the nostalgia for playgrounds form decades past with dozens of historic images while you celebrate playgrounds of Fort Collins present and future. We invite you to touch, to see, to smell, to listen, to climb, to build – and to experience this interactive exhibition that is sure to enliven all of your senses.

Denver Art Museum

During Spring Break at the DAM (March 1631), The Print Studio, Create-n-Takes and gallery games and activities will be available every day. Art Emergency: Sculpture Edition, an original family-friendly play, will be presented March 2529 at 11 a.m.There are several family-friendly exhibits at the DAM including Stampede: Animals in Art on view at the museum through May 19, 2019.  A Walk in the Woods is still on view, which coincides with Stampede, and includes animal-themed artmaking activities and after their summer break, Foxy & Shmoxy: Art Detectives, are back.  Treasures of British Art: The Berger Collection will be opening March 3, Jordan Casteel: Returning the Gaze is also on view, and don’t miss the fun new interactive installation by local artist Nicole Banowetz, The Incubation Effect. January 28, 2019 – January 5, 2020
One of the foremost photographers to photograph the great American West, William Henry Jackson’s images had an immense influence on the public’s perception of the American West. A portion of those images were captured here in Colorado as Jackson traveled throughout the west by rail. This exhibit not only showcases the Museum’s collection of Jackson photographs but provides visitors with the opportunity to visit the rail car he traveled and lived in – the Denver & Rio Grande Western business car – the Rico.
