Mile High United Way Turkey Trot
Nov 22, 8 – 11 am
Run your yams off at the annual Mile High United Way Turkey Trot in Denver’s beautiful Wash Park. The four-mile race and quarter-mile family fun run is expected to host over 10,000 participants in support of Mile High United Way’s work in the community to improve the lives of children, families and individuals in need. This year’s Turkey Trot will include a start and finish village featuring entertainment, music, booths and a beer garden sponsored by Great Divide Brewing Co.

12 Days of Flea at Denver Union Station
Nov 23 – Dec 16
 The Denver Flea is excited to announce their new Union Station Holiday Market by Denver Flea! The Denver Flea will be hosting 12 Days of Flea with shopping events for four consecutive weekends kicking off on Black Friday, Nov. 23 and running through Sunday, Dec. 16. All Flea events will be held at Union Station on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Holiday Sugar Plum Bazaar at McNichols Civic Center Building, Denver Arts & Venues

Come down to the Sugar Plum Bazaar and enjoy the lighting of the lights at the City and county building the same night. Grand Illumination at Denver Union Station

Denver Union Station will officially launch the holiday season on Friday, Nov. 23rd with Denver’s grandest Grand Illumination celebration yet. This festive annual Grand Illumination event will feature a performance of classic holiday hits by the Denver Dolls, a visit from Santa & Mrs. Claus, Christmas carolers and more. The highlight of the evening will be the lighting of the landmark train station’s NEW outdoor Christmas tree, a 40 foot tall tree that will feature more than 7,000 holiday lights. The tree will officially be lit by Dinger, the beloved mascot of the Colorado Rockies.

Blossoms of Light at Denver Botanic Gardens

Movie at the Symphony: Home Alone in Concert at Boettcher Concert Hall in the Denver Performing Arts Complex

Santa Breakfast

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the Evergreen Chamber will once again host the Breakfast with Santa event at the Evergreen Lake House. The morning brings visitors and residents to town for a signature holiday occasion and local holiday shopping for Small Business Saturday. Three seatings of a fabulous pancake breakfast with live Chamber Music await families that would like to meet with Santa and Mrs. Claus in an intimate setting, letting them know their wish list desires. The draw is that the Claus couple strolls amongst the guests, pose for multiple pictures and speak to children individually. Tickets are sold online and at two locations downtown.

Centennial State Ballet invites both young and old to join them in a wonderful afternoon at the start of the 2018 Holiday Season! CSB hosts their 16th annual Sugar Plum Tea Party fundraiser during the Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend; all proceeds directly support the 21st performance Season of the non-profit youth ballet organization.

The Rocky Mountain Train Show at First National Bank Exhibition Hall, Larimer County Fairgrounds

The Nutcracker at Ellie Caulkins Opera House

Just in time for the holidays, Colorado Ballet’s acclaimed production of The Nutcracker returns for its 58th year. In addition to being the largest production of The Nutcracker in the state, Colorado Ballet’s 2016 production was named the best-loved Nutcracker in the U.S. in the 10th Annual Goldstar National Nutcracker Award Contest.

Palmer Lake Fall Lantern Festival

November 24th is the day of Palmer Lake’s Annual Star Lighting. Come to the lake in the afternoon for tons of kids’ activities, a chili cook off at the fire department, and live music. Stroll the streets of Palmer Lake, attend our annual chili cook off, enjoy the local restaurants and shops. Then, at nighttime, watch the Star being lit as we release beautiful paper lanterns onto Palmer Lake.

Feel the warmth and watch as pinecones are tossed into the courtyard fire, sending good thoughts and prayers into the night sky. Winter Wonderlights

This walkable lighting attraction situated in the award-winning Chapungu Sculpture Park at Centerra will mesmerize guests as they stroll through the sculpture park, which has been transformed for this joyful time of year. TreeHouses: Look Who’s Living in the Trees! Hands-on exhibit

Explore the forest canopy – indoors! In the Longmont Museum’s newest hands-on exhibition, visitors roam from tree to tree as they discover the many habitats that trees provide for animals large and small, and people too. Climb through large treehouses, become an animal tracker, get face-to-face with wildlife of all sizes, move your feet on the forest-sound dance floor, and more. Mindbender Mansion

Love brainteasers? Enter “Mindbender Mansion,” a quirky place full of puzzles, brainteasers and interactive challenges that put minds of all ages to the test. This unique, high-energy experience opened at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science on July 20.

Denver Art Museum
There are several family-friendly exhibits at the DAM including Stampede: Animals in Art on view at the museum through May 19, 2019.  A Walk in the Woods is still on view, which coincides with Stampede, and includes animal-themed artmaking activities and after their summer break, Foxy & Shmoxy: Art Detectives, are back.  Children have been really loving the gallery games and book in the exhibition Ganesha: The Playful Protector. Their Learning & Engagment department created a children’s book specially to be used while visiting this exhibition with children, and don’t miss Past the Tangled Present.
