Girls Lead for Life: How this after-school program is inspiring tweens

I recently stumbled upon this program via Women’s Wilderness’ Facebook page.

Recently film maker Alex Simone spent a day at EarthTreks climbing gym in Golden CO with the girls participating in a new after-school program called Girls Lead for Life: After-school Climbing and Leadership Program.

The girls learned to tie knots, belay, and climb in a fun and safe environment led by their professional instructors, along with participating in a leadership curriculum that focused on the unique challenges and opportunities girls face as they transition to middle school.

Thanks also to Earth Treks Golden who hosted the program. And, big gratitude to prAna who provided the 2017 Prana Explorer Grant so that many of the girls could attend with the help of financial assistance.
