Summer Camp: Colorado Adventure Point
posted by: Guest Blogger
Colorado Adventure Point (CAP) is one of the premiere places for indoor adventures and hands on educational activities in the Denver Metro area. Located in the Hamilton Scout Headquarters building, CAP provides adventures for both youth and adults from the community and for the Scouts. Two of the camps we are offering this year are STEM Adventure Camp and Mile High Adventure Camp!
STEM Adventure Camp offers a week of dynamic adventures plus hands on experiments in the fields of chemistry, biology, and physics, all with age appropriate experiments designed by a national team of experts with the Boy Scouts of America. Each day, campers will work together to solve challenging experiments designed to teach scientific thinking, ethical decision making, and leadership skills needed in daily life and in STEM career fields. For the Summer of 2018, we are taking inspiration from the TV show Mythbusters by basing our STEM Experiments on urban myths that we can test at our facility. In addition, youth will have the opportunity to experience thrilling Adventure Zones as they learn about rock climbing, archery, and more!
Discover your passion for urban adventure at Mile High Adventure Camp! Campers will have the opportunity to explore some of the most exciting and historic areas in Denver and surrounding areas. Not only will your child get to experience outdoor rock climbing with our qualified Adventure Instructors, they also will explore museums while learning about different cultures, art, astronomy, animals and more! Pick up and drop off will take place at Colorado Adventure Point, and each day will be a new field trip. Campers will stay at Colorado Adventure Point the first day, doing team builders while also experiencing some of our adventure zones! The following days they will head out to the Denver Art Museum, Denver Zoo, climbing at Clear Creek Canyon, and Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
Both STEM Camp and Mile High Adventure Camp will take place Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. We do have options for before and after care for an additional $20 per day. Before care will take place from 7 a.m.-9 a.m. and after care will be from 4 p.m.-6 p.m.
