I was recently given an advance reader’s copy of Maria Shriver’s I’ve Been Thinking. I can’t say that I really know all that much about Maria except that she is a journalist, used to be First Lady of California, and was married to Arnold Schwarzenegger….oh yeah, and a mom. (Why is being a mom often added on as an afterthought?) I loved this book of short, thought-provoking chapters. It was easy to read. And reminded me that even a celebrity/journalist/political figure from a famous family is real – just like you and me thinking through life’s daily questions.

Library Loans. I love and frequent my library (Douglas County). Did you know that the library loans out more than books, CDs, Movies, Audio tapes? It can also loan you a GoPro, sewing machine and a ukulele! And at Arapahoe County, you can find a VR (Virtual Reality) viewer, GPS unit, or a Google Home (just to see what it’s all about!).

Consignment Sales. We have one of Denver’s biggest lists of kids consignment sales. (Consigning the kid’s clothes and items – no matter how much you may want to give those rascals away sometimes). This week’s sale is the Mothers of Multiples Society sale on March 10 at Douglas County Events Center. Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m., $2 admission.
Hamilton Tickets. Didn’t get tickets to see Hamilton when they went on sale? It’s ok! Plus, now you can get a total DEAL on them (for just $10)! A digital lottery for HAMILTON tickets will begin in conjunction with the show’s first performance (February 27) in Denver at The Buell Theatre. Forty (40) orchestra tickets will be sold for every performance for $10 each. The digital lottery will opens daily at 11:00 a.m. for tickets to performances two days in advance.
Sonic. I live very close to a Sonic and love to surprise my kids with a drink or slushie on the way home. They are half price between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. (so a perfect after work/happy hour treat). But every once in a while, Sonic does different promotions. This Thursday, March 8, shakes, floats and ice cream slushies will be half-price all day! AND shakes, floats and ice cream slushies are now half price every day after8 p.m. May summer begin!
