National Western Stock Show & Rodeo at the National Western Complex 
Jan 6 – 21 
Bulls and broncs, cowboys and cowgirls – rodeo’s biggest superstars perform amazing feats of athleticism during each performance of this professional rodeo. Showcasing the elegance and athleticism of the world’s top reining horses, the hard-hitting competition of Denver Professional Bull Riders Chute-Out and the Mexican Rodeo Extravaganza, this event has something for everyone.

Stock Show Kick-off Parade at Denver Union Station 
Jan 4, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
The sight of more than 40 Longhorn cattle walking through the streets of downtown Denver can only mean one thing…it’s Stock Show time! The NWSS Kick-Off Parade is a sight to see. The streets of downtown Denver are lined with boots, chaps and cowboy hats to celebrate Colorado’s western traditions and the iconic National Western Stock Show. Kids, families, business men and women get to step back in time and see a true western cattle drive with horses, cowboys, cowgirls, tractors, marching bands and floats.

Winter Break at the Denver Art Museum 
Through Jan 7, 2018
Winter Break at the Denver Art Museum means fun for the whole family! The 3D Studio, Create-n-Takes, and much more are open every day from Friday December 22 through Sunday, January 7. All activities, including Art Emergency: Stampede Edition, are included in general admission, which is free for kids 18 and younger.

Movie at the Symphony: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in Concert at Boettcher Concert Hall in the Denver Performing Arts Complex

The Harry Potter™ film series is one of those once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomena that continues to delight millions of fans around the world. This concert will feature your Colorado Symphony performing every note from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban™. Audiences will be able to relive the magic of the film in high-definition on a giant screen while hearing the orchestra perform John Williams’ unforgettable score live.

Free First Saturday at the Denver Art Museum 
Jan 6, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
General admission is free on the first Saturday of the month thanks to Your 6 Hometown Toyota Stores and the citizens who support the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD). General admission to the Denver Art Museum is FREE to all youth ages 18 and under every day, granting more kids access to art than ever before.

Colorado vs. the World Rodeo at the Historic Denver Coliseum
Jan 6, 11:00 am – 9:00 pm
Featuring Frontier Airlines Mutton Bustin’, Westernaires presented by Sunward Steel – Boy Scout Day. All tickets include Grounds Admission for the day of the event.

Jeff & Paige at Rayback Collective 
Jan 7, 10:00 am
Enjoy an indoor, hour-long, science and nature-focused kids’ concert at Boulder’s hippest hub for food, community and music. Expect live, original, nature-inspired music for kids, educational/hilarious skits, quick costume changes and tons of audience participation. Show appropriate for kids ages 3-8. There will be hot cocoa and coffee from Carabiner, pints, mules, sangria and a mystery am cocktail all available for purchase. Stick around after the show for lunch at any of the 3 food trucks onsite! Food can be brought inside. 

SCFD Community Free Days at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science 
Jan 8, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Free day at DMNS! A fee still applies to IMAX films, Planetarium shows, and temporary exhibitions. Reservations and amenities (lunchroom, coat and lunch storage, bus drop off, etc.) for school groups are not available on SCFD Community Free Days.

Winter Wonderlights at Chapungu Sculpture Park at Centerra

Each night, visitors and locals will revel in holiday string lights, twinkling bulbs, LED mappable snowflakes, illuminated African stone sculptures, the only 20’ LED mappable Christmas Tree in the state and 30-minute music and light shows. In addition to nightly lighting attractions, special weekend programming at the winter event from 5-9 PM Saturdays and 5-7 PM Sundays includes: Colorado’s largest inflatable igloo, weekend food and retail vendors, and exceptional performances sprinkled throughout the event calendar.

DEN Ice Skating Rink @ Denver International Airport 
Through Jan 7, 2018
Once again, the DEN Plaza will be home to a FREE 34’wide X 60’length ice skating rink.

Joy for Toys at the Lakewood Heritage Center 
Through Jan 6, 2018 
Every parent knows the joys a toy can bring to children. Look back at the toys that were entertaining children in decades gone by. The exhibit includes historic and retro toys from the Heritage Center’s collection as well as beloved toys from our volunteers, friends and staff.
