Located in the Golden Triangle Creative District, the Denver Art Museum is a must-see Denver landmark and educational, nonprofit resource that sparks creative thinking and expression through transformative experiences with art. With an encyclopedic collection of more than 70,000 works of art, including American Indian, Spanish Colonial and western American art, as well as special exhibitions like The Western and Mi Tierra, the museum offers something for visitors of all ages to enjoy.
The DAM also has regularly scheduled programming for kids and families as well as a variety of options for exploring on your own. Stop by Creative Corners throughout the museum for imaginative play and discovery, trek through the galleries with a Family Backpack full with artmaking, games and puzzles, have fun learning about artwork with gallery games similar to I spy and memory matching and try on costumes or make an art activity in the Costume Studio, Kids Corner and Just for Fun Family Center.

Get your #SummerintheWest started by visiting The Western: An Epic in Art and Film. Immerse yourself in Western landscapes as portrayed by famous painters, photographers and filmmakers, and get to know the cast of characters they created to help construct nostalgic ideas of the American West that have carried on through fine art and film throughout history. Kids and families are invited to play a new gallery game as you explore the exhibition. The game will have you searching for different imagery of key aspects of the Western genre: people, places and stories.
Beginning on June 30, take your museum experience outside and play on a new, interactive musical installation on our plaza titled La Musidora. The usable 90-foot artwork, seating a total of 20 individuals at a time, will generate musical notes and provide a unique place to relax before and after your visit.
What are the ticket prices?
Tickets for The Western are just $5 for member adults and free for youth 18 and younger. Tickets for nonmember adults are $15 for Colorado residents and $18 for non-residents. *General admission is FREE to all youth ages 18 and under every day, granting more kids access to art than ever before.
