Winning Wednesday: Win Arapahoe County Fair Tickets for the Whole Family

Who wants some old-fashioned fun? A summer tradition since 1906, the 111th Arapahoe County Fair is a time to celebrate our heritage on July 27 – 30 at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds in Aurora.

Each year, you can enjoy returning crowd favorites plus new events and activities. Mutton bustin’ and the high-flying dock dogs return this year along with the petting farm, two nights of fireworks, sled and tractor pulls, 4-H events and exhibits, carnival rides, K9 demonstrations and delicious food. New to the fair is a second rodeo on Sunday, an old fashioned soda truck, a climbing wall, new heritage experiences in the homestead.

Fun for Kids

The Arapahoe County Fair is a playground for little ones with activities both inside and out. Your admission ticket gets you UNLIMITED carnival rides, so ride till you drop. If you want to take a break from rides, there’s a ton more to do. We’ve got the Petting Farm and the Kids’ Corral which boasts a climbing wall, hay maze, hamster wheels, a bucking bull, kids tractor pull, picnic games and the Magic Bean Show. Think your kiddo has rodeo chops? Sign them up for a ride on a sheep in the Mutton Bustin arena, or enjoy cheering on the competition from the stands. It’s fun for the whole herd.

Cool off inside on the Homestead where kids can learn about and experience what life on the farm is like. There’s a make and take area for leather crafting, rope making and more. There’s farm to market area where little ones can learn about harvesting and gathering items from the farm and taking them to market. There’s the fit as a feline contest to learn about how cats are an important part of farm life. You can visit with Alpacas, play in the sand box, and take selfies at the peek-a-boo photo stations.

A visit to the barn offers a chance to see prize-winning 4-H animals like Chickens, Rabbits and Pigs. On Saturday and Sunday, the exhibition hall will offer a mountain bike skills course for kids and on Sunday there will be a kayak/paddle boarding pool inside. There’s fun fair food like cotton candy and new this year is an old fashioned soda truck. Try your luck at the midway games to win a stuffed animal and stay up late to see the fireworks on both Friday and Saturday.
