If mines are aren’t spooky enough, this one might send you over the edge. Literally.
Coming Summer 2017: The Haunted Mine Drop at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
Six people at a time will sit in a row of seats in a small, dark mine as they as they hear a ghost story from the gold rush with narrative and characters. Then they’ll plummet 110-120 feet to the bottom of the mine shaft. More ghosts will appear at the bottom to continue the tale, and then the ride returns to the main level for exit.
This will be the first drop ride at the park to go underground and inside Iron Mountain.

The mine drop is the creative brainchild of owner Steve Buckley, who loved the concept of a thrilling drop ride. Rest assured, the ride won’t actually be in a historic mining mine; crews have been working hard to dig a new 100-foot tunnel.
The building housing the ride will be themed to look like an old mine building and will be located on top of Iron Mountain at an elevation of 7,000 feet.
