There are plenty of fun events this week including the National Western Stock Show, the Martin Luther King Marade, Break the Ice Weekend and more. See our event calendar for full details. 

Martin Luther King Marade (March and Parade) 
Jan 16, 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Celebrate the largest Martin Luther King Jr. march and rally in the United States. Participants gather at City Park and march to Civic Center Park, where a large rally commemorates the life of Martin Luther King, Jr.

National Western Stock Show at the National Western Complex 
Jan 7 – 22 
Denver’s National Western Stock Show is one of the world’s premier Western spectacles. Pull on your cowboy boots, grab your chaps and see it for yourself each January just north of downtown Denver at the National Western Complex (Jan. 7–22, 2017). For the last 110 years, thousands of visitors from across the country have come out to see more than 15,000 animals, rodeo performances, bull-riding competitions, dancing-horse shows, barrel racing, auctions and booths selling everything from cowboy boots to cookware to golf vacations.

LIVE! International Sportsmen’s Expo at the Colorado Convention Center 
Jan 12 – Jan 15 
The International Sportsmen’s Expo is the region’s largest presentation of nearby and worldwide travel destinations, plus fishing, hunting, off-roading, watersports and outdoor products. This event draws attendees from throughout Colorado as well as Wyoming, Nebraska and Kansas who are looking for outdoor fun of all types here in Colorado and around the world.

10th Annual Warren Miller Film Screening, Stoney’s Bar and Grill 
Jan 13, 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Ten years ago, two SafeHouse Denver volunteers launched this annual event to benefit survivors of domestic violence. This January, please join your fellow ski and snowboard enthusiasts, as well as other SafeHouse Denver supporters, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this fabulous event.

2017 Denver Preschool Program Preschool Showcase at the J. Churchill Owen Boys & Girls Club 
Jan 14 
Hosted by the Denver Preschool Program, the fifth annual Preschool Showcase is a FREE one-stop opportunity for Denver families to find and compare quality preschool options, learn about the tuition support available, and talk with preschool resources in the Denver area. Plus, there will be free food and fun kid’s activities, including appearances by PBS characters like Clifford or Curious George.

Break the Ice Weekend at Snow Mountain Ranch 
Jan 14 – Jan 15 all-day
The Break the Ice Weekends, taking place January 14-15, January 28-29, February 4-5, and February 18-19 will feature free guided ski & snowshoe hikes plus activities including Curling, Animal Tracking, Little Explorers Club and more.

Low-sensory Morning at the Historic Center Colorado 
Jan 14, 8:00 am – 10:00 am
The History Colorado Center is happy to open its doors exclusively for families that prefer a lower sensory environment. The museum will be closed to the general public, attendance limited, and the sound in exhibits turned down. Come and enjoy! Admission is free and space limited. RSVP required.

Family Adventure Day at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center 
Jan 14 – 15 
Join us for a free opportunity to spend the day with your family being creative. Let us ignite your imagination with new adventures in art-making and explore different themes with art materials and new techniques in the studios led by teaching artists.

Rocky Mountain Bridal Show at the Colorado Convention Center

Free Day at the Denver Botanic Gardens York Street
Jan 16, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Free Days occur throughout the year at both York Street and Chatfield Farms, thanks to funding from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD). No tickets are needed for admission to Free Days. Free Days are for regular Gardens hours only and do not include ticketed events.

Free Day at National Parks
Jan 16, 9:00 am – 8:00 pm
During the fee free days, all National Park Service sites will waive their entrance fees for all visitors.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Vintage Theater 
Through Jan 15 2017, 10:00 pm
