There are plenty of events in Denver for Father’s Day weekend including the Colorado BBQ Challenge, Greek Festival, Evergreen Rodeo, Denver Comic Con and more. See our event calendar for additional information

Evergreen Rodeo at El Pinal Rodeo Grounds 
June 17  – 19 
The Evergreen Rodeo is a Pro Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) event that takes place in the beautiful mountain community of Evergreen, Colorado on Father’s Day weekend. The Rodeo Weekend includes a Friday family fun night, a fabulous Saturday morning parade through downtown Evergreen, and afternoon rodeo performances on Saturday and Sunday. 

Do At The Zoo 
June 16, 7:00 pm
Calling all party animals! On June 16, Do At The Zoo is the place to be for all who love food, lots of food, while sipping on cocktails and hanging out with the animals at Denver Zoo!

23rd Annual Colorado BBQ Challenge, Frisco, Colorado
June 16 – 18 
2016 will feature 70+ BBQers, 7 bands, pig races, kids’ activities, the 2nd Annual Fire Fighter Cook Off, food sampling and demos, the Breckenridge Distillery Whiskey Tour, the Bacon Burner 6k and the best BBQ you will have in Colorado this year.

Greek Festival at Assumption Greek Orthodox Cathedral 
June 17  – 19 
Come eat, drink and dance like a Greek at the 2016 Greek festival on the grounds of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Cathedral (the big gold dome). Whether you are nine or 99, there is something fun to do at the Greek festival. For the younger kids, there are fair rides, games and toys.

Joy Park Free Nights at Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus 
June 17, 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Explore 30,000 square feet of outdoor adventure for FREE during our Joy Park Free Nights. The exhibit will be open after hours from 4 – 8 pm (or until dusk) on the third Friday of every month, May – September, in collaboration with Denver Parks and Recreation.

Denver Comic Con 2016 at the Colorado Convention Center 
June 17 – 19 
Denver Comic Con (DCC) is a 3-day, family-friendly pop culture fan extravaganza, featuring the best in pop culture entertainment. DCC is a program of the Colorado nonprofit Pop Culture Classroom, whose mission is to inspire a love of learning, to increase literacy, celebrate diversity and build community through pop culture education.

Meet the Bee Keeper at Hudson Gardens
June 18, 9:30 am – 11:30 am
Stop by the Apiary while Hudson Gardens’ beekeepers are working their hives, and observe live, active beehives and real-life management techniques

Fire Truck Parade and Muster
June 18, 7:30 am – 1:30 pm
Events at the muster will include: Water ball contest, Drafting and pumping, Water bucket contest, Auto extrication demonstration, Helicopter landing. Antique and modern fire trucks will be on display.

Denver Arts Festival at the Conservatory Green 
June 18 –  19 
Since 1999 the Denver Arts Festival (formerly the Downtown Denver Arts Festival) is a fine arts and fine crafts festival that continues to be dedicated to supporting Colorado artists while also showcasing a select group of national artists.

Denver Kids Festival at the National Western Complex 
June 18  – 19
The indoor event is part fun fair, part expo, part fun family outing. Kid can let loose in Nerf wars, giant hamster balls, foam sword duels, human bubble bowling, balance board activities and more while parents check out local and national vendors with everything from baby and kid items to family services.

Arabian Horse Day at Arapahoe Park at Arapahoe Park 
June 18, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
The Arabian Horse Association (AHA) in conjunction with Arapahoe Park, the Colorado Horse Council (CHC) and CANTER Colorado will host the first-ever, ‘Arabian Horse Day’ on Father’s Day Weekend, Saturday, June 18.

Dad and Me WildNight at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
June 18 – 19 
Come learn about our special animal dads during a night time tour of Cheyenne Mountain Zoo! This fun Father’s Day event provides a great opportunity for dads and their children to spend quality time in a fun, welcoming environment.

Juneteenth Music Festival at Five Points
June 18, 6:00 – 7:00 pm
Commemorated in cities across the nation and around the world, Juneteenth is a cultural event celebrated by diverse people of all colors, backgrounds, and nationalities.

Cherry Blossom Festival 
June 18 -19 
Japanese culture and heritage are showcased in this annual event, now in its 44th year. Dance, taiko drums, and martial arts are featured on the outdoor stage, while inside the Denver Buddhist Temple are food sales, exhibits, and demos.

Father’s Day Car Show and 5K at the Apex Center 
June 19,  9:00 am – 3:00 pm
The 12th annual Father’s Day Car Show takes place on Sunday, June 19 at the Apex Center, 13150 W. 72nd Ave., from 9 am to 3 pm. The show is free to spectators.

  1. We LOVE the Evergreen Father’s Day Rodeo. Our tip, bring a blanket and a shade tent and set up shop on the hill behind the stands and bring a cooler. The view is just as good, it’s way more comfortable and the kids can run around!
