There are plenty of events in Denver this week including a summer kick-off concert, ice cream social, summer reading, Denver Chalk Art Festival and more.  See our event calendar for additional information.

Capitol Hill People’s Fair at Civic Center Park
June 4  – 5 
The People’s Fair is one of the largest two-day festivals in the country with over 200,000 fairgoers, and is one of Colorado’s longest-running outdoor urban festivals featuring handmade arts & crafts, food from local restaurants, kids’ activities, live local entertainment, and more!

Ice Cream Social at City Park Pavilion
June 2, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
he City Park Ice Cream Social is an annual event provided by the City Park Alliance and City Council District 9. Come for free ice cream and stay for a concert with the Denver Municipal Band. The City Park Ice Cream Social is an event specifically for people to celebrate the cultural and historical gem that is City Park.

LEGO Club at Longmont Public Library 
June 3, 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Calling all Lego Lovers! We’ve got the club for you! Visit the Library on the first Friday of each month to accept Lego building challenges. When you’ve finished your masterpiece, it will be displayed in the Library. This is an after-hours, family event — everyone is welcome

Celebrate National Trails Day at Majestic View Nature Center 
June 4 , 8:30 am – 2:00 pm
Celebrate National Trails Day in Arvada on Saturday, June 4. Explore nature, participate in eco-friendly activities, learn about resource conservation, and experience some of Arvada’s 149 miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails. Pick up a Healthy Places Passport To Fun at any location and complete activities to earn a chance of winning exciting prizes like a bicycle and trekking poles!

Free Day at Denver Art Museum 
June 4, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
General daily admission to the Denver Art Museum is FREE to all youth ages 18. The first Saturday of each month, the public is free as well.

Denver Chalk Art Festival at Larimer Square 
June 4 –  5 
More than 200 professional, amateur and student artists will delight and amaze Denverites with their incredible talents in what has become one of the city’s most treasured events. Over the course of two days, the artists will take to the street armed with vivid pastel chalks and spend hours on their hands and knees recreating major masterpieces or sharing original works of art.

Giddy Up and Go at Friends of Horses Rescue and Adoption Barn
June 4,  10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Giddy Up and Go is a fundraiser to support the therapeutic riding programs at Friends of Horses Rescue and Adoption. Children’s Advisory Network and Reining Heroes come together this day to celebrate and give back for their generous support in our programs. See website for hours.

Harmony Equine Center Open House 
June 4,  10:00 am – 3:00 pm
This free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 4 at the beautiful Harmony Equine Center, located just west of Franktown. Guests are invited to take a guided tour of the facility, participate in games and activities for kids, visit equine-related vendors and enjoy food and refreshments from local food truck vendors, as well as meet horses that are available for adoption.

Summer Reading Kickoff at Douglas County Libraries 
June 4, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Douglas County Libraries: 2016 Summer Reading Program for All Ages. Join us from 10am-12pm on June 4 to celebrate the start of Summer Reading! Sign up to be a part of Team DCL. Get painted in team colors, decorate your own medal, show off your skills, chow down some muscle fuel, and show off your gold-medal smile!

Goldilocks: A hiking play presented by Arts in the Open 
June 4 – July 31 
Goldilocks is a curious girl who loves to explore the world around her! Follow her on the trails as she encounters unlocked doors, a family of bears, and many other adventures in her quest for what is “just right.” From Patti Murtha, the author of last year’s hiking play, “Little Red and Her Feisty Friends,” this adaptation of the classic story is sure to please.

The Urban Market at Skyline Park 
June 4 , 11:00 am – 7:00 pm
The 10th annual Urban Market is the Denver’s premier open air marketplace. At the market you will find an cornucopia of local arts and crafts sold direct by the artist, clothing, jewelry, antiques, furniture, holistic services, unique treasures, delicious food, and just about anything else you could want. Come out and have fun in the sun while supporting your local artists, businesses, and community at Denver’s outdoor shopping paradise.

Centennial’s Summer Kickoff Concert at Centennial Center Park 
June 4,  6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Kick off your summer with a free concert featuring the U.S. Air Force Academy Band the Falconaires, a jazz ensemble bringing the great sounds of big band jazz to national audiences for more than 60 years by playing the best of the past, present, and future. Enjoy live music, bounce houses and a K9 demonstration by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office

Colorado Concours d’Elegance & Exotic Sports Car Show at Arapahoe Community College 
June 5,  9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Ability Connection Colorado’s Annual Colorado Concours d’ Elegance and Exotic Sports Car Show—one of the premiere car shows in the Rocky Mountain Region is almost here. The Colorado Concours is an annual event showcasing nearly 500 rare sports and classic cars, early collectibles and the latest exotics provided by local and regional car clubs. Many of these cars venture out only once a year to help Colorado children.
