Once upon a time when my husband was in the hospital, I jaunted down to their deli for some sustenance. As my eyes glossed over the various junk food options, I decided to spring for what looked like the healthiest among them: Bobo’s Oat Bars. Little did I know my love affair had begun!
For the past 10 years, Colorado-based Bobo’s Oat Bars have provided a healthy, wholesome oat bars that are certified gluten free, vegan, and organic. But don’t let those accolades scare you off–they are downright delicious and extremely filling (I usually eat half a bar at a time to cut down on calories and never go hungry). My especial favorites are the Original, Coconut and Almond but they’re also available in many other flavors (see sidebar image).
Bobo’s Oat Bars was founded by Beryl Stafford in 2005 in Boulder, Colorado, where it is still headquartered today. Their bars are named after Beryl’s oldest daughter, whom she affectionately calls “Bobo.” Bobo’s Oat Bars developed out of a simple mother-daughter baking tradition and quickly became a sought-after snack bar enjoyed by families, athletes and health minded people everywhere. Bobo’s Oat Bars embodies two things high on Beryl Stafford’s list of values: being a mom, and living an active, healthy lifestyle.”
Bobo’s Oat Bars are sold in Whole Foods Market stores nationally as well as other independent natural grocery retailers. You can find them in King Soopers, Vitamin Cottage and Sprouts Farmer’s Market. Check their store locator here: www.bobosoatbars.com/store-locator.”
