With the holiday season in full swing, there are a few things which are abundantly clear in Denver: we are in for a cold and snowy winter, Starbucks’ seasonal drinks should be available year-round, and The Nutcracker, in all of its splendor, is being performed by the Colorado Conservatory of Dance (formerly the School of Ballet Nouveau Colorado).
CCD offers the audience an experience like no other with its family-friendly performance of The Nutcracker. It is the only production that invites all children from the audience onstage after the show to learn choreography from the holiday family classic. Stunning sets, gorgeous costumes, and amazing choreography are only a few of the delights offered by the holiday presentation of the ballet. Professional dancers from around the world including Adiarys Almieda, Joseph Gatti, and John Lam star in this year’s performance, as well as other professional and preprofessional dancers with over 150 hours of rehearsal under their belts will debut in this season’s presentation.
The first show premiers on Saturday, December 12 at 1 p.m., with a second performance at 6:30 p.m. Additional shows are December 13 at 1 p.m., December 19 at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and December 20 at 1 p.m. There is also a special sensory-friendly performance on Friday, December 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Complex at Pinnacle Charter School located at 1001 W. 84th Ave, Denver, CO 80260.
Ticket prices are $42 for Prime tickets, $32 for standard, and $24 for value seating. Child/student/senior tickets are $37 for prime, $29 for standard, and $22 for value seating. The special sensory-friendly performance offers discounted rates of $10 per ticket and the guest of honor is FREE!
