===========================

Whether you start your day fueling up at the #NSPIRE truck or end with us (or both), here are some ideas for playing in Breckenridge this weekend.

Breckenridge Ski Resort. With five huge peaks, 2,908 acres, four terrain parks, a 22-foot Superpipe and a world-class ski school, Breckenridge is more than a hip mountain town. The bases of Peak 8 and Peak 9 are laced with several wide, gentle trails and at the end of your day, race down the mountain on 2,500 feet of coaster track on the Gold Runner Alpine Coaster.

carterparkSledding. If your family loves sledding, Carter Park is the place to go. One of the only sledding hills in town, this place is sure to offer up some great family fun time the old-fashioned way: hiking back up the hill after a thrilling ride down.

Mountain Top Children’s Museum: Let your kids think outside the box at this creative, hands-on children’s play space with exhibits such as the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Exhibit, Wonderlab and Planetarium and the Creation Station. They also have day camps and a “Kid’s Night Out” program if you want a date night.

Ice skating: At the Stephen C. West Ice arena, public skating goes as late as 9:00 p.m. (check out the schedule as times may vary). On Dec. 11, locals will be gathering at the Winter Ice Show, with performances by area youth and adult figure skaters, as well as former professional skaters.

Eats. Our family’s tradition is to warm ourselves by the fire as we devour a tasty treat from Crepes a la Cart on Main Street. Grab a burger and fries at family hotspot Downstairs at Eric’s and set the kids loose at their arcade for pinball, prize machines, and a mix of classic and modern games. At the end of your day, enjoy a hot drink and chocolate chip cookie at The Crownone of Breckenridge’s only late-night coffee shops.

skiSnowshoeing and Cross-country Skiing.  The Breckenridge Nordic Center offers guided snowshoe tours  and excellent cross-country skiing for all abilities. If you want to venture out on your own, Boreas Pass is an historic, high mountain pass that offers a long but easy grade, with incredible vistas all around.

ReadyPaintFire. If you’re looking for a fun NEW art this holiday season on Dec. 10, ReadyPaintFire! Breckenridge Studio is making Christmas ornaments in glass. Make something delightful for your tree, of a unique gift for someone special.

Breckenridge Recreation Center.  The 69,000 square foot Breckenridge Recreation Center offers a variety of athletic and community activities including a water slide, lap and leisure pools and family gym time Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Their Saturday mini camp is a cool (and cheaper) alternative to resort daycare.
