Denver Deal: Mountain Khakis, Winter Fest, ARC and more!

There seems to be hub-bub over the 40s for me right now. Not only did my daughter and I have the White Christmas Ball this last weekend – but I also am going to an aunt’s birthday party which is themed after the 40s (this weekend). It is so much fun to roll my hair in ways I didn’t think it would go, the skirts are forgiving of my not-so perfect shape and they certainly had more sensible shoes than what I regularly wear now. Have to give it to those Haynes Sisters and Rat Pack – they really did know how to entertain. But really it is all about putting us in the mood for Christmas and it did for certain!

Free Tree. This year the Forest Service is offering one free Christmas Tree permit to fourth graders who would like to cut a Christmas tree on a national forest. In order to get their free permit, the fourth grader must be accompanied by an adult and present an Interagency Fourth Grade Pass or valid voucher at the Forest Service district office in the area in which they would like to cut a tree. The fee waiver is part of the White House’s Every Kid in a Park campaign. To get their free Interagency Fourth Grade Pass, fourth graders must log on to https://everykidinapark.gov/ and follow the instructions. The paper voucher is also good during the school year for free visits to national parks, national wildlife refuges and other federal public lands that typically require a fee.
