Crazed Corn Field Maze

Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield

Through Nov. 1: The eight-acre butterfly corn maze is open 4-9 p.m. Friday, noon-9 p.m. Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday in September; 4-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday in October and November. A mini-maze is offered for children under age 10. Tickets vary and include a hayride and jumping on a giant pillow.pony and train rides are available for an additional fee. Frederika Fall Festival

Through Oct. 31: Maze with 3.5 miles of trails, 10 a.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday, noon-6 p.m. Sunday. Admission varies. Flashlights recommended; bring one or buy one at the maze. Fritzler Corn Maze

Through Nov. 1: “Everyday Hero” is the theme of this year’s maze. Pumpkin patch, games and courtyard activities. The maze becomes “Scream Acres” after dark. Hours, admission vary. 20861 CR 33, LaSalle, 970-737-2129, fritzlermaze.com

Mile High Farms

Attractions include an adventurous corn maze, a pumpkin patch, antique tractor hayrides, and an imaginative fall festival town. Bootown at Heritage Square

Through Nov. 2. For the fifth consecutive year, Bootown in Heritage Square will deliver spooky, but not too scary Halloween every weekend in October from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The two-story Miner’s Maze is transformed into the friendly Bootown haunted house complete with spooky decorations and 3D glasses to bring Halloween scenes to life inside the maze. 18301 W Colfax Ave  Golden, CO 80401  minersmazeadventureland.com

Butterfly Pavilion’s Bug-A-Boo
Join Butterfly Pavilion for Bug-A-Boo, a two-day Halloween extravaganza Oct. 18-19 featuring cockroach races, costume parades, and trick-or-treating at each exhibit. Get up close and personal with some of the creepiest crawlies around. Colorado Railroad Museum’s Trick or Treat Train

Oct. 25-26: Offering “Rides, Candy & Costumes” 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Guests can ride in vintage passenger cars with conductors and engineers in full costume and visit special stops to fill treat bags and see the “not so spooky” haunted railcar, the silly graveyard and the pumpkin patch. Riverside Cemetery Moonlight History & Mystery Tour

Oct. 4-25: 90-minute tours offered at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4, 11, 17-18 and 24-25. Hauntings at the Hangar

Elitch Gardens Fright Fest

Halloween festivities invade the park starting at 12 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through November 2. Little ghosts and goblins can enjoy Free Candy on the Trick or Treat Trail and partake in several Halloween themed interactive challenges, including pumpkin decorating, costume contests, Ghouls Match, Gross Out for Kids, Hay Maze, Scream it Out and more. If you love a good scare, but fear those haunted-house ticket prices, you’ll appreciate this frightfully fun freebie for The Frightmare Compound (108th & Old Wadsworth in Westminster). October Ghost Ride

On October 11 & 18, Ebner Tours & Events will guide you through a haunted October evening with a ghost tour of the historic Cheesman Park. Following the “hauntings” of Capitol Hill, you’ll find yourself at Anderson Farms, home of Colorado’s longest-running corn maze & pumpkin patch. Capitol Hill Horror Stories with Tom “Dr. Colorado” Noel

On October 22, pay your respects to some of Colorado’s liveliest deceased characters and dine with the disinterred while hearing their terrifying tales at the Grant Humphreys Mansion. The Wildlife Experience Trek or Treat Off the Street

On Saturday, Oct 25 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., the Wildlife Experience is hosting a Halloween celebration with plenty of spooky surprises for children of all ages! Enjoy a Haunted Trek through Ghoul-ology, Live Animals: Owls from 2 -5 pm, Creepy Crawly Crafts, and Ghost Stories. Denver Zombie Crawl

On October 18, spend an afternoon with 15,000 of the Living Dead! Denver will stage the largest Zombie gathering in history at Skyline Park on the 16th Street Mall for the annual horror fest — the Denver Zombie Crawl. Put on your best zombie makeup and outfit and join the fun. This is an ALL AGES and FREE event. Everyone is welcome. The organizers do however ask that you bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Food Bank of the Rockies. 16th Street Mall, Downtown Denver
